🌱 Unlocking the Keys to Kidney Health - Our Proven Methodology 🌱

At Kidney Nutrition Institute, we've developed a comprehensive methodology to support individuals with PKD, focusing not just on preventing complications, but, more importantly, on slowing the progression of this condition. πŸ’ͺ

Our approach delves into the following key areas:

Sodium Management: We help you get the right amount of sodium to maintain optimal kidney function.

Protein Balance: Discover the importance of not just the amount but the type of protein for kidney health.

Understanding Ketosis and Fasting: Learn how these practices can positively impact your condition.

Gut Health: Explore the gut-kidney connection and its role in PKD management.

Inflammation Control: Strategies to manage inflammation, a critical factor in kidney health.

Fluid Regulation: Understanding the balance in fluid intake to support your kidneys.

Alkaline Diet: Embrace an alkaline diet that aligns with your kidney goals.

Thyroid Health: Support your thyroid, an often overlooked aspect of kidney health.

πŸ’‘ Importantly, we address the myth that lowering potassium and phosphorus levels necessarily improves kidney function. It's not always the case, and our approach is grounded in evidence-based practices.

Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Inflammation 😱

We know beneficial gut bacteria can crowd out opportunistic bacteria; however, LPS-induced inflammation can disrupt this balance, favouring the growth of harmful bacteria.

Remember, gut dysbiosis can lead to various gastrointestinal diseases, including;

β€’ Bacterial infections like H. pylori and C. difficile.
β€’ Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).
β€’ Inflammatory bowel diseases, like ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
β€’ General digestive difficulties, like diarrhea, constipation and gas.

LPS-induced inflammation is actually an immune response intended to deal with bacterial threats; however, if left uncontrolled, it can cause significant damage.
