St. Matthews Area Ministries (St. MAM) Since 1972, St. MAM has been a cornerstone of Louisville KY's St. Matthews community, serving residents in 40207 & half of 40220. Matthews United Methodist.

To neighbors who need it most, we provide emergency financial assistance, fresh food, and support for children and seniors. 501(c)3, Non-Profit Community Ministry, composed ecumenically of ten congregations & parishes of all traditions. Incorporation on Feb. 4, 1972 under the auspices of 3 churches: Beargrass Disciples Christian, Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian, and St.

Last Thursday evening, Julie, Suzanne, Donna, Sally, and Eileen had the pleasure of representing St. MAM at the WLKY Bell Awards on behalf of our very own Bell Award winner, Carolyn Dean, who was unable to attend. 💙💛

Huge thanks to GE Appliances and Dare to Care Food Bank for donating new freezers to our St. MAM Food Pantry! 🙌

Our old freezers were not frost-free, which made maintenance a major challenge. These upgraded, frost-free units will help us store food more efficiently and focus our energy on serving our community.

We are incredibly grateful for their continuous support and partnership! 💙

Big shout out to the of the Notre Dame Club of Greater Louisville! 📣

At the Club's most recent game watch party, these young folks put together awesome birthday celebration kits for our neighbor-clients. Thanks to their kindness, 25 households will be having birthday cake and decorations on a family member's special day!

How great is that??

Congratulations to our volunteer Joyce Louden, who was a Gold Standard of Optimal Aging Honoree at the 2026 U of L Trager Institute of Optimal Aging Awards!

Joyce, who is 88 years young, served several terms as past Mayor of Beechwood Village, volunteers on Tuesday mornings at St. MAM, sings with Silver Notes (a chorus that entertains seniors at assisted living facilities), and is actively involved at St. Andrew United Church of Christ.

You're an inspiration, Joyce! We are so grateful to have you on our team!
