Does your middle schooler love to build, create and problem solve? LEGO Club is coming to the CEC Makerspace Lounge! 🎉

💡Over four weeks, students will take on a different hands-on LEGO challenge each week designed to get them thinking creatively, solving problems, working together and putting their ideas to the test. ⚙️

📅 Thursdays: October 1, 8, 15 & 22

🧵 Our volunteers have been hard at work over the past year bringing a Beginning Sewing Class Series to the CEC! Through their dedication to the Discover Partnership program—and plenty of practice, learning, and fine-tuning—we’re excited to announce that this 6-week series is officially ready to launch on our self-serve registration portal!

💗 Over the course of six weeks, you’ll receive 12 hours of hands-on instruction and experience—and the value goes far beyond learning to sew! You’ll build new skills, gain confidence, and meet some amazing new people along the way. If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to learn something new and do something just for YOU, this is it! Grab a friend and join us!

🧵 Don’t wait to register! We expect this class to fill VERY quickly. Our Crushed Stained Glass Class sold all 25 spots in just 24 hours! Because the Sewing Class requires both machines and hands-on volunteer instruction, space is extremely limited.

😁Hello Everyone!

🤳As this video explains, one small housekeeping item I want to go over.

⚠️If you sign your student up for any of our programming from this point forward, we will need you to complete the two new release forms that are required for participation. The release forms just got updated to reflect the 2026-2027 Academic Year. The form links will be found right in the program description on the registration pages for all upcoming programming. Again, please only complete these forms 1 time for your student.

✨For example, if your student comes to an afterschool program in the Fall, you will complete them at the time of registration in order to participate. If the same student chooses to come to a program in the Winter, you do NOT need to complete those release forms again as we already have them on file for 26-27. (Unless something has changed and you need to make updates.)
