☀️ What a fantastic first day of Summer Club! ☀️

Today was filled with smiles, laughter, new experiences, and lots of new friendships. We have kids joining us from several different towns and counties, and it was wonderful to see everyone connecting and having fun together!

As with any first day, there are always a few learning curves, but those will smooth out as the week goes on and everyone settles into their routines. We are so proud of how well our members and staff handled a busy and exciting day.

Thank you to all of our families for trusting us with your children this summer. We can’t wait to see what the next eight weeks have in store!

Twas the night before summer club…see everyone tomorrow!!

✨ Tomorrow is the BIG DAY! ✨

While Club was closed, our staff was hard at work getting everything ready for an amazing summer!

✅ Renewed CPR and First Aid certifications
✅ Renewed Food Handler certifications
✅ Completed Mental Health training
✅ Completed ACES training
✅ Renewed Summer Feeding Program training
✅ Deep cleaned every room
✅ Shampooed furniture
✅ Organized closets and storage areas
✅ Redesigned and decorated spaces
✅ Stocked up our Club Pantry free to all a club families.
✅ Refilled our Club Hygiene Shelf free for all Club families.
✅ Prepared 8 weeks of themed programming and activities
✅ Bought and organized thousands of snacks. For real, these kids get hangry.
✅ Entered and processed and filed over 120 membership forms
✅ Set up supplies and materials for summer fun
✅ Worked behind the scenes to make sure everything is ready for a safe, fun, and successful summer

There are countless hours that go into preparing for Summer Club, and our staff has truly gone above and beyond this week. We are excited to welcome everyone back tomorrow and kick off an incredible summer together!

🍎 Lunch Reminder for Summer Club Families!

We will be eating lunch at SMES each day. For the first week of Summer Club, we will need to walk to and from the school due to transportation not being available while Energy Express is not in session.

👟 Please make sure your child wears comfortable walking shoes each day.

🥪 Lunch is provided, but you are welcome to send a packed lunch if you prefer.

⏰ If your child plans to eat the school-provided hot lunch, they must be at Club no later than 10:00 AM so they can be included in the lunch count that must be submitted to the school.

📢 Important Late Pick-Up Policy Update 📢

Effective immediately, our late pick-up fee policy has changed.

Previously, a fee of $1 per minute per family was charged after closing. Moving forward, the fee will be $1 per minute per child after closing.

For example:
• 1 child picked up 10 minutes late = $10 fee
• 2 children picked up 10 minutes late = $20 fee

Our program closes at 4:30 PM, and we ask that all children be picked up by that time. This policy helps compensate staff who must remain after hours to supervise children who have not been picked up. Also our staff have other jobs and classes after closing they have to get to.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure fair compensation for our staff and maintain program operations.
