Hello G.A.I.N. followers! We would like to introduce our newest intake Dakota! He is named after a very special lady dog named Dakota that recently passed away.

He is just a wee little guy, he is roughly 5 weeks old. He has got a bit of a situation going on with his left eye. He also has a pretty swollen and sore back left leg. He will be going to the vet to get an exam, and possibly X-rays of his leg.

While we don't know what little Dakota went through before he came to us to get him in this situation, what we do know is now he will have the best opportunity possible to lead a healthy and happy life!

This is the 6th kitten we have taken in in the past two weeks that will most likely need to have an eye removed. Your donations make saving these kitties possible! So today if you're feeling inclined we would love to start raising money for this little kitten and his friends to have their surgeries!

Hello G.A.I.N. followers! We have a new litter of kittens at Feeders! They're as cute and sweet as they come!

Trick is as sweet as he is flashy. He's a perfectly marked black and white kitten! This guy loves and wants to be a part of everything. He is so curious. He is more of an "in your face" kind of kitten. He is sweet, friendly, and playful.

Bosco is such a sweetheart. He is a handsome all black boy. He is a very chill guy. He loves to sit up on his hind legs and touch things with his paws. He might even sit up and give you a wave or two. He is a little shy at first. Give him just a bit of time to get used to his surroundings and he will come out of that shell and show you what a great companion is.

Grady is a handsome and very active guy with personality plus. He is a gray and white guy with light tiger markings. He wants to be involved. He wants to sniff it, touch it, play with it, or whatever else he can think of. Grady will do well in any type of household, but an active house would be best. Grady is not super fond of dogs at this point. He is a brave boy and will prove it if he thinks he needs to. He should be fine around a gentle dog, with some patience and encouragement.

Nikko is as fun as he is handsome. He is a black and white tuxedo boy! He loves to play. Nikko loves life and wants to live it to the fullest. He is the curious type and can be seen lurking behind objects to catch a glimpse of what might be happening. More often than not he will want to join in on the action. He cannot resist a sweeping broom! Nikko will be such a loving and fun companion!

Hello G.A.I.N. followers! We have a couple sweet kitties still waiting for their own place to call home!

Vermin is an 9 week old male tiger kitten. He is the sweetest little dude! He's loves to cuddle, play, and curl up in the sun for a nap. His favorite thing to play with is wand toys. And of course squeeze up treats are life. He is ever so grateful for being saved and just wants to share the love.

Volturi is an almost solid white kitten, but he has two tiny little gray spots on his head! He is 9 weeks old. Volturi is very playful and LOVES to chase - wand toys, balls, and really anything! He is also a fan of wet kitten food! Especially the pate.

Quil is slightly fluffier than his siblings. He is almost solid black but he has some white hairs sprinkled in on his tummy. Quil is also 9 weeks old. He is a little more reserved than his brothers, but he is ready to play and explore! Quil is also obsessed with squeeze treats!

All of these kittens are spayed/neutered, age appropriately vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for parasites.

Hello G.A.I.N. followers! We have a few kittens to introduce to you. We have our Twilight litter and two singletons!

Stine is a sweet little orange and white tabby. He is 8 weeks old. He's got the most gorgeous white eyeliner! He loves a good long stroke down the back. Stine is sweet, shy, and curious too!

Aro is a very sweet boy and he is solid black like a panther! He is 8 weeks old. He loves butt scratches, loving up his foster Mama, and playing with toys. Aro has a good purr box!

Hello G.A.I.N. followers. We have a somber post today, but we feel it is necessary.

We were called about a cat that was found down on the side of the road. The finder asked us to help her. So they brought her to us, and we could tell right away that she was badly injured.

We checked her for a microchip to be safe, and then we took her immediately to MSU Emergency Veterinary Services.

She was black with a few small white markings. She was also ear tipped, so clearly someone cared to get her fixed. She was gentle as can be and never raised a paw to us even though she was clearly in pain.

Unfortunately the story doesn't have a happy ending. The vets at MSU told us it was kindest to let her go.

We called her Astrid for the short time we knew her. It means beloved by the Gods. We felt she deserved a strong name and a fighting chance. We stayed with her until the end and she passed away comfortable and surrounded by love.

This sweet girl mattered. So we decided to share her with you so you could help us honor her.

Hello G.A.I.N. followers. We would like to introduce a very special "litter" to you. These are our Cyclops kittens.

These sweet babies came from a TNR site that we're working with. They love these cats and kittens, but this is the reality of uncontrolled breeding.

What starts as a simple eye infection has quickly devolved into this. Each of these babies is probably going to lose at least one eye, and one may lose both.

We believe they're from 3 separate litters, but now they are the Cyclops litter!

Please let us introduce them! In order of the pictures they are Arges (the bright flash), Brontes (the thunderer), Steropes (the lighting maker), Polyphemus, and Grawp.

This is a reality we face on a daily basis. These kittens will have a better life inside with families who love them because of the community who supports us. But not every kitten and cat is so lucky. So please, SPAY AND NEUTER those outdoor cats you're feeding!
