Thanksgiving Day Free Store Distributing winter clothing and other basic personal items free of charge to the needy in the Twin Cities since 1995. In 2012, we served more than 700 people.

History

The Thanksgiving Day Free Store was started by Jo and Don Senander as an outreach of Union Congregational United Church of Christ. Each year since 1995, the Thanksgiving Day Free Store has

distributed new and gently used winter necessities and other basic personal items to those in need from the Twin Cities Metro area. The Thanksgiving Day Free Store is held at St. Stephens school buildi

ng on Clinton Avenue in Minneapolis and is only open on Thanksgiving Day. Our guests are mostly men, but there were more than 100 women and more than 70 children. Many were homeless. The Thanksgiving Day Free Store is a 501(C)(3) organization.
