It’s $5 FRIDAY! 🐾 And today, it’s dedicated to Baby Dog’s blood panel & neuter!

There are SO MANY benefits to neutering a male dog aside from preventing unwanted litters. For our senior guys especially, neutering can provide some pretty important health benefits, including:

🐾 Eliminating the risk of testicular cancer
🐾 Greatly reducing the risk of an enlarged prostate, which is extremely common in older intact males and can cause difficulty urinating or going to the bathroom
🐾 Reducing the risk of certain prostate infections and hormone-related problems
🐾 Preventing or reducing certain testosterone-dependent tumors, including tumors around the a**s
🐾 Reducing the risk of perineal hernias, which are more common in older intact males

For Baby Dog, his first step is a blood panel to make sure he’s ready for his neuter. Then we can get this happy little guy checked off the list! 💛

Our Gives Program is in need of volunteers! 🐾

We’re looking for volunteers to assist with Gives Pick-Up Days at our office, helping beneficiaries and community members pick up pet food and supplies.

We’re also looking for a few more volunteers who are comfortable driving our Gives Trailer! Our trailer travels to multiple locations throughout the community, allowing us to bring food and supplies directly to pet owners who need a little extra help.

Whether you can help at the office or get behind the wheel of the Gives Trailer, we’d love to have you join us!

OLD DOGS, NEW TEES! 🐾 We’re letting YOU help design our next Grey Face Rescue T-shirt!

We’re looking for original designs that celebrate senior animals, rescue, adoption, Grey Face, or simply the special love that comes with an old grey face. Our team will select our favorite designs, and then we’ll turn it over to YOU to help choose the winner!

A little Dolly-inspired reminder for today: There's always room for a little more love 🫶

Our senior dogs may have a few more gray hairs, a slower step, or some extra baggage from their past but they also have SO much to give.

They know how to appreciate the little things.
They know the joy of a soft bed.
They know the comfort of a familiar person.
And they know that a good nap is never a bad idea.

So let's celebrate the seniors today! Because growing older isn't something to hide. It's something to celebrate.

Be a little more like Dolly.
Choose kindness.
Spread joy.
Love the ones who need it most.

And maybe give a senior dog a chance while you're at it. Your donation continues to inspire us to save senior animals in need.

Scout, we don't know why you're still available either. Who doesn't want this perfect girl?! You have to be crazy!

Scout is a gentle, low-maintenance sweetheart who is happiest enjoying the simple things: sunshine, leisurely walks, cuddles, and treats. She's quiet, easygoing, and doesn't need much grooming.

She can be a little shy at first, but give her a little patience and her sweet personality shines. She does well with kids, dogs, and cats, too!

Scout is looking for a calm, loving home where she can relax, be your best friend, and enjoy her golden years.

Honestly… what's not to love?

IT'S NATIONAL DOG DAY! 🐾 And we're launching a NEW series: Meet Me On Mondays! 🐶

Every Monday, we'll highlight one of our adoptable seniors and give YOU an opportunity to meet them in person!

Our very first Meet Me On Mondays pup is Chester! Chester is a 9-year-old, 24-pound Boston Terrier mix with the sweetest, most easygoing personality. He loves everyone, does great with dogs and cats, is potty & crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and knows "sit" and "shake." He's happiest relaxing by your side and is ready to find his forever family!

WOW — YOU GUYS! We are completely OUT!

What an incredible day! Thanks to our amazing community, we were able to provide pet food and supplies to so many local families and their pets today.

Thank you to the Whitney Senior Center for hosting us! 🫶🏽

Our goal with the Grey Face Gives Program is simple: keep people and their pets together. We know that sometimes families just need a little extra help, and we hope that by providing food, supplies and resources when they’re needed most, we can help make that possible.

Because we are officially out of food and very low on supplies, we’re packing up and heading out early today but we’ll be back!!

If you are still in need of pet food, our friends at Tri-County Humane Society also have a Pet Pantry available during their regular business hours.

And this is exactly why your donations to the Gives Program matter! We couldn’t continue providing these resources without the generosity of our community. If you’d like to help us restock the Gives Trailer and prepare for our next event, you can support the program here:
