A huge shout out to Mr. Russell for his District Award of Merit. Thank you for feeding us so well up on the island each year!

Congratulations to Donald Russell for way too many years of service and finally getting recognized with the District Award of Merit!

This is what the new Avenue of Flags looks like. It's not really an avenue anymore, but it looks pretty good anyway.

The brand new North Sally Port entrance is ready for the season! This is the historical entrance to the fort on the north side, and returns a Scout guide post to the entrance after going a few years without. We can’t wait to raise and lower the new flags at the entrance!

Our first practice was a huge success! Scouts showed up with enthusiasm and ready to learn. With so many new Scouts this year, and the 2nd year of our Family Troop format, we have lots of new faces in our ranks. This was the first big test of our Junior Leaders, with Scouts leading the marching, flag, guide service, and patrol activities. They passed with flying colors, and we can't wait to see more of their leadership at our second practice.

Today's the day! It's our first practice for our 2026 week of service to Mackinac Island. Parents, remember that our patrols begin to form up at 5pm. The construction on I-94 and the Pipestone intersection is ongoing and traffic conditions are always shifting, so please allow enough time to arrive to the practice safely and ahead of time.

Come prepared with your health forms, other paperwork, and put in orders for red jackets if you don't have one. If your Scout has grown over the winter and needs new uniform parts, you may check some out of our Troop's loaner supply. Likewise, please bring any old uniform parts in good condition that you'd like to donate to our loaner supply.

We can't wait to see everyone from 5-7:30 this evening at Wightman & Associates in Benton Harbor, 2303 Pipestone Rd, Benton Harbor, MI 49022.

Any parents interested in firing the morning canon while we're on the island? Mackinac State Historic Parks has a special program to let island visitors purchase tickets to be the cannoneer for morning flags.

Make a visit to Fort Mackinac one for the record books - fire the opening cannon salute during the America250 celebration! Link in comments. ⬇️ ⬇️

This weekend the 2026 Patrol Leader's Council spent time getting to know each other a little better and working on plans to make this year's week on Mackinac even better than last year. Time was spent finalizing Scout patrol assignments, playing games, fine tuning plans for our upcoming practice weekends, and taking time to make sure our Assistant Senior Patrol Leader was looking dapper on his way out to a choir concert.

Parents, expect your Scouts to hear from their Patrol Leaders in the next few weeks, start getting your paperwork in order, and be on the lookout for ways you can help us on practice weekends.
