Another issue with this ever so “passionate” community regarding the SJSD. The media outlets post something that has controversy involving the school district and every educational guru, financial guru, discipline guru, and architectural guru comes out of the woodworks.

The media outlets post something that highlights the positive growth, as measured by the state of Missouri, regarding the SJSD and there are 8 comments in total between the two media outlets.

Trust me, the educators in this district notice this.

I will give SJSD Watchdog (Forsee) credit however. She did share all of this and was very complimentary of the growth. Trust me passionate district “experts”, if she can be complimentary, so can you!

Be better St. Joe - it’s not hard.

What the community should be saying is something similar to, “That looks fantastic”, “Thanks to the voters who approved this for our kids”, “The rain hasn’t been kind to the contractors, but I know all the fields will be great”, or anything something similar

Instead, half the comments on the St. Joseph School District post are negative. Leesa Foresee RN, just be quiet. You aren’t in any way the expert you think you are. Whether it be turf field, the Daikin heat pumps or building usage, you ChatGPT to even state a point. Trust me, you can clearly tell when you ChatGPT vs. when you don’t. You create your own narrative with the research you do, which I’ll give you credit, you do your research, but it’s only what you find that helps your narrative. You don’t pay taxes, so just stop. You are negative on any school district post, city post, county post, or fair ground post. Once again, your non-existent taxes aren’t funding anything.

To the other trolls, just leave, please. You are the problem in this community. “The NFL is going away from turf because of the injuries and concussions and here we are putting our kids in danger”, “I can’t wait for the lawsuits”- Yes, the best athletes in the world are doing away from it because of what they can do on a field. I hate to break it to anyone, our kids aren’t world class athletes, their injuries are going to happen regardless.

And the money, aka Bond Funded. If you even understood the concept of bonding, it would make sense. Bond money can ONLY be used for capital projects. If you lose it, yes, your taxes will go down, but good luck in this town getting a bond issue passed when we become in dire need. They continually have to use the bonding capacity, or they lose it. They are continually paying down the bond, aka “loan”, in order to continually run bonds on the ballot, that are known as “no tax increase bonds”.

We wonder why families aren’t coming to St. Joseph. Well, any family who cares is going to do a little research on the school district and waalaa, look at the comments on this post. Why would anyone want to build their family here when the comments about something great, are so negative?

I could go on, but the ones who care will already know this information and the trolls will say I’m wrong.

With that being said, thank you! Thank you to the voters who allowed this to happen and that grey on grey with each school getting their color scheme in will look great 🔥, regardless if a high school or middle school is using it.

If I’m not mistaken, wasn’t there a little bit of controversy with Mr. Snethen and a district credit card? Interesting enough, the controversy was around his daughter using said credit card.

My thoughts as we less than 5 days away from a very important election in St. Joseph:

- The vote is simple, either “yes” for the southend to have a brand new school or “no” for no new school and Benton to close as a high school in the fall of 2027. And before you say it, I don’t agree with the Board releasing a giant circle and saying it will be within this circle. However, I do trust them that it will be in the Southend. Could you imagine the uproar it would cause in this town if they didn’t? Our district would never recover from that.

- If “no”, the district would need to pass a no tax increase for bond money to renovate Lafayette in order to accommodate 650 more students. With maximizing the bonding capacity, it will take years before the district could provide any additional upgrades or new structures without a tax increase because the bonds would need to be paid off prior to asking for another no tax increase. Vote the no tax increase down and see the next point in this post.

- What hasn’t been said, at least not that I’ve seen, is that Dr. McGinnis will follow the long range plan. I haven’t heard that from her, but she was a part of all of the discussions developing the long range plan and was on board with all of them and I can’t imagine her deviating from that plan. I’m going to say this, I don’t believe you want to “call someone’s bluff” to see “if” it will happen if the new school is voted down.

- All of the naysayers: Get your ass into our buildings, it’s embarrassing. From an academic equity standpoint to a pure facilities standpoint, it’s embarrassing. I hate to say this to you, but the students of 2025 do not care about the history of the buildings, trust me. I agree, a new building doesn’t fix academics at the snap of the finger. However, our district needs a little “shared responsibility” between school and home.

- At the very basic fundamental vote that is looming, it isn’t a hard decision.

Vote yes for a positive change. Vote no for a disaster and being set back more years than what the current generation will be able to recoup from.

Leesa Forsee, RN, you woke up today from papa’s basement and said, “Yep, that’s the one I’m gonna post today”!

It has to be exhausting to be you and I mean that in the kindest of ways.

Why do you continue to do things like this? What is the point? You are relevant in the social media world. As painful as it is for me to type that, you have a following on social media. All the way from the SJSD Board President to people who hide behind a page like myself, but I do not understand why you would post something from 2016. However, I’m talking out of both sides of my mouth as I’m commenting on it.

Thank you to the voters for showing a commitment to our educators in the St. Joseph School District. Plenty of work to be done, but this showed our most valuable employees in the community that they have support.

For the naysayers, yes you know who you are, this is another successful vote for the SJSD. Please consider joining the movement for an improved community.

Your educators care deeply about the kids of the St. Joseph community, I can assure you of that, but at times they question if the community cares about them. This was just one way to show that you do care, but doesn’t have to be the last. Looking for other ways that may only cost time? Please contact your local school and see what you can do to help.

Plenty of teachers are starting to file back into the buildings and thankfully to the voters, they have started the 2024-25 school year off with maybe a prolonged smile or some additional “pep in their step”.

So, thank you voters. 🙏

Now that Leesa’s man has retired from education, she doesn’t support teachers?!? 🤔 Did Leesa ever really support teachers or did she only support one teacher?

I wish every bridge was closed that crossed over I29 so that she could never cross over or they only closed them when she was out driving her dad’s van around and MoDot played tricks with her. Remember, she’s an east side elitist, folks.

I really despise this lady as she brings absolute nothing of value to anything in the city of St. Joseph.

Gosh dang it, they intentionally did this to upset Leesa Forsee, RN, again.

Leesa, their names are on the bottom and their school colors are all there.

Go find something else to do today.

Brett Esely had a vision for something better.

Through his consistent commitment for bringing high quality events to St. Joseph, he and his team have created a professional experience for anyone who teams up with him.

Can’t wait to see what the next few years bring for the St. Joseph community.

Thanks for making a difference, Brett!

Received notice yesterday that we are a finalist for National Sports Commission of the Year for destinations under 500,000! The winner will be announced this Tuesday at the SportsETA National Symposium in Portland, Oregon.

Our dear friend, Leesa Forsee RN, has taken on a new adventure. She will now have an opinion, one of which she will blame the school district, regarding teen pregnancy.

She’s done it all, folks! Accounting, Policy, Construction, Engineering, Teen Pregnancy.

Thank you to the voters of St. Joseph on both ballot measures for the SJSD - the Bond and BOE Members! The Students, Staff, and other district personnel appreciate your support.

Your votes spoke to all stakeholders of the school district that it is possible to move forward and change is very possible, even with the naysayers

Though their was plenty of skepticism throughout this process, the behind the scenes dialogue was both of positivity and hope.

Kimmy, please be quiet now so we can move on about our day. You beat one person, Warren Ingram, who I would enjoy having a beer with and discussing Chiefs football. Steve Carrillo doesn't count as he dropped out, and the last place was 'write-in'. Hopefully, you and Leesa can continue to speak to your 8 followers through 'We the People 3 Schools'. The district will still need to respond to your and Leesa's sunshine requests in a timely manner based on (taps on $100 Amazon policy book) policy. Also, take Louis with you as well.

Kenny, your statement of, ‘Thanks for getting me re-elected. NO” at the February BOE meeting didn’t age well. But hey, you beat Kimmy in the race 🤷‍♂️

A lot of educators are going to bed tonight with a smile on their face and will wake up in the morning and return to work with their heads held a little higher to take care of kids.
