Ben's Stockings of Hope Homemade Christmas stockings for charity in memory of Ben McIntyre. Ben McIntyre was my youngest son. He had a great love of life and lived life to the fullest.

Growing up he loved Ninja Turtles, Batman and Robin, playing video games, reading and fishing. In school, he was active in band (drum line), football, and the school play. Ben had many friends, a big heart and a friendly smile. In October 2011, God took Ben home at the age of 22. He died in a drunk driving accident which also took the life of two other young people. Ben’s death left hurting heart

s for my family - Ben's mom, step dad, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 6 nieces & nephews, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. As part of dealing with my grief, I started making stockings for family members out of his t-shirts, sweatshirts, and jeans in the fall of 2012. It was a great healing process for me and my youngest daughter. We enjoyed looking through all of his shirts and matching them up with the personalities of family members. We could easily relate Ben and a family member to a majority of the shirts and sweatshirts. I used his jeans as the back of the stockings and lined them. Family members knew about the stockings, but didn't get to see theirs until Christmas. It brought tears to my eyes to watch them look at theirs and want to see everyone else's. We did a good job of matching them up. They loved them and I collected them all back to stuff and pass out again next year. Ben will be with us each year. Why stockings? Ben's favorite part of Christmas was waking up in the morning, sneaking downstairs and digging into his Christmas stocking. In his memory and love for Christmas, stockings were the perfect option. Inspired to help bring Christmas joy to others, Ben’s Stockings of Hope was created by his family in October 2012. All profits go directly to stuffing stockings for local children in need. We have a variety of stockings made from shirts and jeans for sale. WE ALSO MAKE TO ORDER! Turn your favorite old t-shirt, sweatshirt or other clothing into a memory stocking. Bring us your shirt to have made into a stocking. If you have a pair of jeans to use for the back, bring them too. Help us spread Christmas to EVERYONE!

Ben’s Stockings of Hope Garage Sale at United Methodist Church Friday 3-6pm and Saturday 7am-Noon in basement. Parking and entry on West side of building! All proceeds go directly back to charity!

BSH shopping: ✅ A huge thank you to everyone who came to help us shop and wrap today in preparation of next weekend. These pics include such a dedicated group of people that show up every year to donate their time and their huge hearts to spread hope to those who need a spark of caring during tough times. We could not do this without every one of you. There are no thanks deep enough for all of the time you put in every year. Also a huge thank you to the St. Joseph JCPenney who always open their doors early for us and have absolutely the sweetest most helpful staff!!
