Youth Volunteer Corps of St. Joseph MO We engage youth (11-18) in team-based, structured, diverse, flexible service-learning opportunities. YVC of St Joseph MO is based out of the Youth Alliance.

The Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) is a national, not-for-profit network of programs that offer young people, ages 11 to 18, the opportunity to improve their community through volunteering. Four fundamental goals:

1. To engage youth in service projects that are challenging, rewarding and educational.

2. To serve the unmet needs of the community and its residents.

3. To promote among youth a greater understanding and appreciation for the diversity of their community.

4. To promote a lifetime ethic of service among youth.

The youth volunteers LOVE cooking and serving at Open Door Food Kitchen Saint Joseph MO! We are there at least twice a month. Do you have a group that would like to help too? Come October 22nd at 5:00pm and see how your group can help!

Join us for this open house event on Thursday Oct. 22 (5-6 PM) to learn more about how you, your organization, church, or group can become part of the amazing outreach efforts happening at Open Door Food Kitchen to feed people in need in our community. We'll share with you everything you need to know about volunteering and answer any questions, plus offer a tour of the facility.

True community is built on action. Across St. Joseph, our YVC youth volunteers prove every day that compassion and service are powerful ways to keep that spirit of unity alive. Whether we are supporting local first responders, packing meals, or lending a hand to those in need, our young leaders are building a stronger, more connected community for everyone.
