🏃‍♀️🐾 FUNDRAISER 5K FOLLOW UP! 🏃‍♀️🐾

Mother Nature may have let us down last Saturday. ⛈️👎 But our wonderful, supportive community most certainly did not. ☺️ In spite of a crummy forecast, a torrential downpour, lightning and last minute changes to plans, you showed UP for shelter pets! 🙌 We are thrilled to report that our annual Run/Walk for the Paws 5K raised $15,000 this year! 🎉

Special Shoutout to our AMAZING event sponsors, who played a significant role in the above outcome. 👏 Many of the businesses listed below have been faithful, steadfast supporters for years. We could not accomplish our mission without you. We appreciate you immensely! ❤️

We are incredibly sad that we didn’t get the chance to connect with our community in-person and enjoy the planned festivities. 😢 We were comforted by every supportive comment and act of kindness that day. 🫶 To all that registered, planned to attend, and showed up in the persistent rain anyway—> THANK YOU for your donations and for your commitment to local shelter pets. It truly makes a difference! ❤️ If you completed the 5k virtually when the weather cleared, comment and share a pic! We’d love to see those fur babies, too! 🐕🐾

Update: Cancelled due to weather

🚨 Attention Runners 🚨 We are delaying the start of the race this morning to 9:30 am due to weather. With the current radar and weather conditions we hope that the lightning in the area will be through by then and we can run a safe race. The safety of our participants is our number one priority. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and look forward to still having a great event! Please keep an eye on our page for any more updates.

A big thank you to all of our sponsors for making our event tomorrow possible! We will be at River Bluff Brewery tonight from 4-7pm for early packet pickup. We have a limited quantity of extra t-shirts for those who registered after March 25th. These are first come, first serve. Stopping by River Bluff tonight is your best chance to get one if you missed the t-shirt deadline.

There's still time to sign up! You can:

2. Register in person at packet pickup
3. Register in person tomorrow morning

🌧️ WEATHER WATCH 🌧️

Jojo here 👋 with a weekend weather update! The forecast is currently calling for scattered rain on 5K event day. But Mother Nature can’t steal our sunshine! ✌️

The event will take place rain or shine. And we have all of our paws 🐾 crossed for the shine! ☀️ IF lightning is observed in the area, we will ask everyone to stay in their cars, stay safe, and delay the race start time until the the weather improves. Come early and grab a drink from Hazel’s Coffee Company, just in case! ☕️😉
