Hunger and food insecurity rates are on the rise. High food prices have made it difficult for families with children, seniors and others to purchase food and keep families fed.
Food banks are struggling with food shortages and many who need help getting food, lack the transportation they need to access local food pantries.
Together we can help address the food shortage problem in Saint Joseph Missouri by combining our resources and distributing them to families, seniors and other individuals in need.
Beauty From Ashes Women's Ministries cares about people. Since January 2026, we have been working hard to do our part, by collecting nonperishable food items and distributing them to people in need through out the city of Saint Joseph, Missouri through our mobile food pantry program.
Our current goal is to help 3 families, seniors or others in need of food each week.
Since January 21, 2026 Beauty From Ashes has been consistently reaching our goal of delivering nutritious nonperishable food items to our Saint Joseph neighbors in need.
Thanks to generous donations of food from the Present Truth Fellowship and the North Church of God in June of 2026, and from individual donors, Debby Simon, Tina Arbuckle and Bella Reed and Julie Baker, we were abundantly blessed with food donations in May of 2026.
Because of this generous abundance of support we were able to help 6 families each week in May with the exception of the 3 rd week in May where we distributed food to 15 local families. In all, we distributed food to 33 families in need in May of 2026. We were able to give each family 2 to 4 bags of non perishable food (depending on family size). In all Beauty From Ashes handed out more than 70 bags of no perishable food items to families in need throughout Saint Joseph, Missouri. The majority of families we helped in May, received help from the Beauty From Ashes Mobile food pantry for the first time time.
But that’s not all, thanks to the generous support from our donors, Beauty From Ashes partnered with the Saint Joseph Pregnancy Resource Center to help us get additional donations out to pregnant women and young mothers, as well.
After distributing donations in May, the Beauty From Ashes food pantry is running low on many items. Many of our food storage baskets are completely empty and our shelves are running low on canned food items.

We need your help to continue this vital food program that has been a lifeline to many in our Saint Joseph, Missouri community.
Beauty From Ashes is hosting another weekend round up of non perishable food items.
We are seeking donations of non expired non perishable food items.
Most needed items are:
Canned meat
Canned fruit
Canned vegetables
Peanut butter
Pasta
Pasta sauce
Cereal
Oatmeal
Soup
Chili
Crackers
