Upcoming silent film event in St. Joseph, MO at the Missouri Theater. If you've never been to this theater this would be the perfect opportunity. This description is from the City of St. Joseph website:
A screening of the movie, “IT” starring Clara Bow will be shown Sunday, May 17, beginning at 3pm. Organ accompanist, Marvin Faulwell and percussionist, Bob Keckeisen will provide the live soundtrack for the afternoon. The two are regular musicians at the Kansas Silent Film Festival in Topeka. Mr. Faulwell composed the music that they will be playing for “IT.” The Missouri Theater opened on June 25, 1927 with the feature film, “Rough House Rosie” starring Clara Bow. That particular film has been lost, but the movie, “IT” was also made in 1927 and established Bow as the original IT girl, as she was Hollywood’s most popular leading lady of the late 1920s. A Charlie Chaplin short, “The Adventurer” will precede the feature film. Following a brief intermission, the documentary, “Discovering the IT Girl” narrated by Courtney Love will be shown. The event will finish by 5:40pm.
