We’re on the road for 2023!
Here’s the map:
April 29
-- We’ll be at the Earth Day events in St. Johnsville (44 Bridge Street) from 12- 5 P.M. Do you know how threatened honeybees are? Do you know how a shortage (or absence!) of pollinators will affect your daily menus? Stop by our table and take the quiz. Kids too! MQ mugs and other bee items for sale.
May 6
-- We’ll be part of the Town Clean-Up activities (10 A.M. to 4 P.M.) with Friends of St. Johnsville and Green Samarians. Window washing, sweeping, de-weeding, painting slats for the Grandstand renovation, etc.)
May 29
-- Watch for us in the Memorial Day Parade (starts at 9 A.M. down Main Street from the nursing home to Soldiers & Sailors Park) Bee careful! Those little bees may be tossing honey treats.
Bridge Street Diner’s street fair and more to come….
In case you haven’t heard: The Moses Quinby Look-a-Like contest and the 2023 summer Conference & Public Field Day events at Fort Klock have been postponed until next year. We do not want to compete with the EAS annual event which is taking place within driving distance of St. Johnsville for the second year in a row.
Sorry you missed:
February 26
-- In Dolgeville we spoke to a delightful audience of gardeners and others at the Dolgeville/Manheim Library’s Sunday Salon. Jacque Devlin discussed current threats to pollinators and how to encourage their health and well-being.
April 14
– In Sharon Springs with the Silver & Gold group, we heard Sun Mountain Apiary’s Bob Muller discuss the history of bees and honey. Moses Quinby’s contributions were given due credit, and we learned something about NY state’s Tech Team and hive inspections. Bee keepers, do you know you should be registered with the state? Hive inspections and disease advice is free.
