Look how handsome he is…let’s help our friends get Brownie into his forever home!
**EDIT: ADOPTED!!** NAPLES, FL: 9 year old Brownie weighs close to 80 pounds. He's a big guy, that's for sure! Brownie has been up for adoption for well over a year now despite attending public adoption events and getting his face out there. But he's had very little adoption interest and his shelter says large dogs don't get the attention they deserve due to their size. Brownie lives with other dogs in his current foster care situation and does well. He can get protective of his favorite people around strangers, but he has no problems with anyone once he knows and trusts them. PLEASE SHARE!
Collier County Domestic Animal Services writes, "Brownie came to the shelter last year when his owner surrendered him due to housing issues. Sadly, this sweet 9-year-old has now spent more than a year waiting for a new home.
Brownie is a staff favorite and considered a gentle giant by volunteers. Brownie is so good natured that he often attends public events as the shelter’s doggy ambassador and where he easily mingles with people and other dogs. Brownie walks nicely on leash, rides well in a car, and proves to be house broken during foster sleepovers.
In his current foster home, Brownie has not had any accidents and no issues with their dogs over bed, food or toys. He is very protective of his people. He likes everyone if he knows and trusts you.
Brownie was heartworm positive but has been treated and cleared. He had a large gingival mass which was removed along with several teeth.
Out of state adoptions are allowed but adopters must arrange their own transport."
