🚲 BORROW A BIKE AT LBPL! 🚲

Long Beach Public Library is excited to launch our Borrow-a-Bike Program, promoting eco-friendly travel, outdoor fun, and easy local mobility!

Now you can check out a bicycle just like a book.

Who can borrow a bike?

Long Beach Library cardholders in good standing
Must be 18 years or older

Borrowing period:

3 days

How it works:

Reserve a bike online through our Library of Things, or visit the Adult Reference Desk for assistance. Choose from a pink or blue cruiser bike—then complete a quick checkout process.

Each bike includes:
🔒 Bike lock
💡 Front & rear lights for safe evening riding

Before you ride, patrons will complete a short agreement and waiver, and staff will perform a quick safety check. Then—you’re ready to roll!

⚠️ Helmets are not provided, but are strongly encouraged.

Come ride, explore, and enjoy Long Beach in a whole new way!

98 bikes left our Syosset location today. They were headed for the curb, but thanks to some amazing volunteers, they get to live a new life and bring lots more smiles!

Join the Long Island Bicycle Co-Op for our Bike Giveaway in Syosset. This is a first-come, first-served event, so arrive early! Every bicycle available has been carefully restored by our dedicated team to get you rolling.
