Rule Breakers was a fantastic and inspiring movie seen at the Cameo on 9/28! Soroptimist St Helen Sunrise alongside the Cameo Foundation showcased the film and the missions of Soroptimist, NEWS, and Girls on the Run North Bay with our community! Shoutout to Cathy Buck for forging the way!

It was great to hear from St Helen’s own, Amelia Hardy, from the Stanford Intelligent Systems Laboratory! We were able to build deeper connections thanks to the Q&A following the screening and fun reception held at the stunning Meuse Gallery! Together, we are breaking the rules and raised $13,000 for our local community!!!

Join us for the showing of Rule Breakers, a dramatic film inspired by the true story of an Afghan all-girls robotics team who overcame tremendous obstacles to learn coding & then travel the world!
1:00 PM on Sunday, September 28 with a Q&A after with the Director and Amelia Hardy (St. Helena native) in partnership with the Cameo and Stanford!

Reception: 4:00 PM thankful for Meuse Gallery for donating their stunning gallery, where you will enjoy from community champions Clif Family and Karl Lawerence wine and tasty bites during our silent auction as we fundraise for our beneficiaries.

The local nonprofits that have benefited from Lunafest for two decades are hoping for another sellout crowd at this year’s mini-film festival, which could be the last.

A stellar night at Lunafest Napa Valley, a sold out event that showcased inspiring women! Live at the Cameo Cinema, Soroptimist St Helena Sunrise club hosted the film festival featuring films about and by women and celebrated the life of Maggie Friedrich who lost her battle earlier this year to a rare autoimmune disease. Money was raised to benefit NEWS, Girls on the Run North Bay and Soroptimist scholarships.

Maggie was honored at the event. Her daughter, Linzi Gay, shared stories about her Mom and a video that was created by Melissa Henry Pratt. A new Maggie Friedrich scholarship was also launched. The scholarship is for local young women who are strong, kind, compassionate and ready to share their joy within the community.

Soroptimist is grateful for the generous sponsors who supported the event including presenting sponsors Nena Hopkins Talcott and Napa Valley Wealth Management! The Cameo Cinema was the perfect spot to view these important films.

The crowd enjoyed tasty bites from Crisp Kitchen & Juice and yummy wine from Clif Family Winery and Karl Lawrence.

We are ready to play a part in advocating for change.
