📢 Lake St. Helen Water Level Discussion – Community Information
The St. Helen Lake Association is aware of the recent communication regarding the potential consideration of maintaining a consistent, year-round water level for Lake St. Helen. As this discussion moves forward, we want to ensure that the voices of our community members — especially shoreline property owners — are heard directly by decision-makers.
Water level management is a complex issue that can affect shoreline structures, aquatic habitat, winter recreation, erosion patterns, wetlands, and the overall long-term health of the lake. At this time, the Association has not taken a formal position, as we are still gathering information to better understand the potential benefits and concerns associated with a set water level.
We strongly encourage all property owners, particularly those whose property abuts the lakeshore, to review the information they received and submit their individual comments directly to the Roscommon County Board of Commissioners.
