**April Chapter Ride has been relocated**

Saturday looks to be steady 20-30mph winds in Cedar City. With no cover, that is a long way to drive for a ride that has no cover.

Let's go to White Reef Trailhead in Harrisburg. The weather promises to be better. Bring lunch and we'll stop in the beautiful box canyon for lunch before finishing the loop. For directions, google White Reef Trailhead (it says Hurricane, but that's it). You go under I-15 and turn right to the parking lot. Please consolidate trailers if possible.

Join us for our April 11th B*HU Southwest Chapter Ride located in the beautiful Red Cliffs Desert Reserve and enjoy scenic vistas, petroglyphs and dinosaur tracks!

We had a great turnout tonight at our first Member Meeting at the Black Bear Diner. Dr. Ron Johnson, DVM shared some of his vast knowledge and experience as an equine veterinarian. Doc Johnson shared great tips and advice to help us give greater care to our equine partners. From pesky flies and allergy season, to worming and vaccine routines, and must-have’s for every saddle bag, we all learned something new!
Some of the education was hands on as Doc Johnson passed around some of his post-mortem hoof models and incredible enterolith intestinal stones and helpful advice to avoid these painful situations in our horses.

It’s was a fun night of camaraderie, equine education and great food! If you were unable to attend, come join us next month, May 6th at the St George Black Bear Diner! Everyone is welcome!

So grateful for everyone that gave up some of their Saturday for a work project at the Red Mountain Trailhead. Local Back Country Horsemen and 4H members combined and made short work of the massive tumbleweeds that were taking over the trailhead parking. The BLM provided the dumpster and Lin Hokana “crushed it” with his tractor.
The work was completed within an hour and it felt good to give some service back to this beautiful trail so many people love and enjoy!
