Red Cliffs Bird Fest invites you to join us Thursday April 25th for a trip to Grandpa's Pond, Quail Creek and Sand Hollow reservoirs for a great morning of spotting waterfowl and shore species in Hurricane Valley. We will set up at good vantage points around the reservoirs and use spotting scopes and binoculars to see a wide variety of species. At Grandpa’s Pond we will take a walk around the pond for the opportunity to see both waterfowl, songbirds, and raptors. The region is host to a high number of migratory and year-round species. Note: State park fees for Quail Creek and Sand Hollow will be waived. Register now while openings are still available for this and many other trips on all 3 days of the event-April 25, 26, & 27th. Everybody loves to share a great bird photo. However, taking that great photo takes skill, the right equipment, and of course a little luck with the bird population. Brady Iverson, a Utah-born photographer, biologist, and creative partner with the Zion National Park Forever Project, is leading a bird photography working session along the Virgin River in La Verkin Confluence Park as part of the Red Cliffs Bird Fest. This trip is applicable to all skill levels and will provide helpful tips on composing and capturing exciting bird photos in the field on any kind of camera: film, DSLR, or even cell phones. Brady has spent years studying the habits of wild animals and trying to get up close to them and will share what has worked, and what hasn't. Join this trip for a lovely walk with opportunities to acquire and share photographic tips. Vist https://redcliffsbirdfest.com/ to register.

The "St George Parks" trip is one of the most highly rated trips of the Red Cliffs Bird Fest. It is a great opportunity to learn about our local seasonal and resident birds that utilize our varied neighborhood parks. This is a great trip for beginning birders, those visiting the area and anyone who wants to experience the region’s flora and fauna on relatively flat paved and dirt pathways. Some of the habitat ranges within Greater Zion are reflected in the parks we visit. This trip includes time at Tonaquint, Boots-Cox Park and Cottonwood Cove Park. Register now while openings are still available for all 3 days-April 25, 26, & 27th. https://www.redcliffsbirdfest.com
