We've teamed with our friends at THE NEST on The STG. Scripties Writers Group. These informative get-togethers will take place on the second and fourth Thursday of every month from 7 PM to 9 PM upstairs in the conference room at the Electric Theater Center located at 68 E. Tabernacle. Designed as a creative outlet for screenwriters, these meetings will be hosted by writer, Andrew Rian Hansen.

These get-togethers are FREE but space is extremely limited (8 to 10 people) so if you're interested, be punctual.

Andrew is a terrific writer so expect plenty of valuable insight as well as great input from like-minded creatives.

The next STG. Scripties get-together will take place on Thursday, June 11th.

In partnership with FMASU, Red Carpet Cinema returns to the historic Electric Theater with the 2-day GEMs Festival!

This year’s theme, “Enjoy the Silents,” features 10 silent film screenings presented on the theater’s new 2K projector, with select films accompanied live by St. George musician Matt Szymanski.

Plus, stick around after each screening for live onstage discussions with insights from Desert Cactus Films.

There are two western projects shooting here in Southern Utah over the next few weeks that we wanted to assist in making locals aware of. A feature film as well as a TV series.

Both projects are in need of extras and stand-ins.

Great opportunities to get involved in a quickly growing filmmaking scene here in Southern Utah.

Details below;

Feature Film (May 13 – June 9) Western

- Roles: Men (Mid 20s–50s); Caucasian, Native American, African American, Asian, Hispanic.
- Specifics: All Types but we specifically need men with beards, mustaches, and long hair.
- Positions: Stand-Ins (must be available for the entire shoot) and Extras (needed periodically).
- Rates: $150 – $200 per day.
- Notes: Expect 12-hour days, working outdoors, food and snacks provided.

TV Series (May 28 – May 30) Ranger Types

- Roles: Mostly Men, with some Women (Mid 20s–50s); Caucasian, Native American, African American, Asian, Hispanic.
- Positions: Stand-Ins (must be available all 3 days) and Extras (needed for 1 day; specific date TBD).
- Rates: Extras: $175 / Stand-Ins: $250.
- Notes: Expect 12-hour days, working outdoors. Food and snacks provided.
-Wardrobe fitting $40

Our passionate friends at Red Carpet Cinema are back with GEMS on May 15th and 16th, and FMASU couldn't be anymore thrilled to be part of it.

This time, this celebration of classic cinema will focus on the silent era by way of an epic cinematic event called GEMS: Enjoy the Silents.

The proceedings will include an unforgettable slate of films, insightful conversations with the amazing folks at Desert Cactus Films, and live piano accompaniment by the gifted Matt Szymanski.
