DWS meeting at 5 at Tonaquint Park (this will be the last meeting until September). The presentation will be a group exercise on setting up still life vinettes and the importance of lighting. There will also be a drawing for a black box. This will be valuable preparation for those wanting to attend Loren McCrackens' workshop in the fall. All supplies will be provided for each team to create and experiment.

DWS just finished a 3 day workshop with one of our favorite artists and instructor, Lester Lee. One of the benefits of joining Dixie Watercolor Society is learning from accomplished artists like Lester. This was a workshop focused on portraits. If you attended this workshop feel free to post your workshop artwork. At our DWS meeting Lester shared a demonstration on his style of loose painting.

The 2025 Fall Youth watercolor show and reception was held at Gallery 35 on Saturday, December 13th! After an eight-week class, a collaboration between the Dixie Watercolor Society, the St. George Children’s Museum, and made possible by the Miner Foundation, there were many impressive masterpieces on display. Students, family members, and all others that stopped by had a great time! There were refreshments, a scavenger hunt, and people’s choice awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place. To top it off, one lucky student won an original watercolor painting by Jim Hewlett. Thanks to Jim and all the other volunteers that made this happen!
