As the housing industry faces a severe labor shortage, NAHB members report that increased immigration enforcement and jobsite raids are heightening worker fears and further straining the construction labor pool.

Three years ago, SUHBA established the Housing Attainability Fund to support organizations that are creating real opportunities for attainable homeownership in our community.

One of those organizations is the Washington County Board of Realtors REACH Program (Real Estate Assistance for Community Housing) -- which provides down payment assistance to individuals and families working toward the dream of first-time homeownership.

For the past two years, SUHBA has been honored to support this meaningful initiative led by the Board of Realtors, helping strengthen our ongoing partnership and shared vision of making homeownership more attainable.

Most recently, the SUHBA Board of Directors approved an additional $15,000 contribution, bringing SUHBA's total investment in the REACH Program to $40,000 in 2026.
