A “full house” doesn’t quite capture it! It was a bursting-at-the-seams, stand-where-you-can kind of crowd for an extraordinary evening at The Freyhan Center last night.

Readers and fans gathered from across the region to spend an evening with Kathryn Stockett as she shared stories behind her newest novel, The Calamity Club. It was a night filled with laughter, insight, and a shared love of great storytelling.

A heartfelt thank you to The Conundrum for your partnership and for championing both wonderful books and The Freyhan Center’s mission. Thank you to Jan Risher of The Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA) for leading such an engaging conversation, and to Heirloom Cuisine for so generously providing refreshments.

And, of course, our deepest thanks to the charming and talented Kathryn Stockett for making the trip to St. Francisville and giving our community an evening we won’t soon forget.

The Freyhan Center has found new life in bringing people together through culture, conversation, and unforgettable experiences. Thank you to everyone who joined us. We can’t wait to welcome you back!
