A sure sign that fall is here!

Our hanging baskets are down, new potting mix is in, and preparations are underway for cool-season plantings. We can't wait to see these baskets filled with fresh color and back on display throughout downtown St. Francisville.

The bed in front of the town hall looked spectacular this morning! The gulf fritillary butterfly was enjoying the zinnias and bees were loving the ageratum.

We get asked all the time about the plants in our St. Francisville Beautiful beds, so we’re continuing our feature. Here are more selections from the courthouse parking lot bed!

Today's planting includes a colorful mix of lantana, bedding zinnias, salvia, and curcuma (ginger). These plants were selected for their ability to provide beautiful pops of color throughout the growing season while thriving in Louisiana landscapes. Together, they create a vibrant display that brightens our streetscapes and helps make St. Francisville an even more welcoming place to live, work, and visit.

Limelight Hydrangea. This hardy shrub is a standout in Louisiana landscapes, thriving in full sun and producing large lime-green flower clusters that gradually age to shades of cream through the season. Limelight hydrangeas provide months of color and interest in the garden and make excellent cut flowers. The blooms can also be dried and enjoyed in floral arrangements long after the growing season has ended.

The zinnia plots blooming around St. Francisville are simply beautiful! 🌸 Their vibrant colors add so much joy and cheer to our community this time of year. While St. Francisville Beautiful didn't plant these plots, we're grateful for the beauty they bring to our town and hope you're enjoying them as much as we are.

The McDonalds in town is a great place to scout for plants. This evolvulous makes a beautiful, blue flowered ground cover! It's a tough plant that can handle drought and heat too!

Supertunia Vista Bubblegum. This is THE petunia for St. Francisville landscapes, known for handling our heat much better than older varieties. It performs best in full sun and produces a steady show of bright pink blooms all season long. It’s also a great choice for containers, working well as both a filler and a spiller plant.

Apricot Drift Rose. This low-growing, shrubby groundcover rose is extremely hardy and known for its excellent disease resistance, making it a reliable choice for our landscapes. It produces steady flushes of soft apricot blooms throughout the season, continuing well into the fall. It’s a great option if you’re looking for long-lasting color with minimal maintenance.
