I am honored to announce that my friend and world-famous Western writer, True West magazine editor, painter and imagineer extraordinaire Bob Boze Bell has accepted the invitation to present at this year’s Tombstone Territory Rendezvous. This year’s theme is the O.K. Corral (and beyond/adjacent).

Bob is presenting Saturday, October 24. His topic is “Brave, Courageous, and Broke: Why Wyatt Earp Couldn't Sell His Life Story.” Sounds enticing, right? I’m glad I’ll be there to hear about it. Later in the day, we’ll gather for a group dinner at the Tombstone Monument Ranch for dinner, awards, and camaraderie with fellow historians, enthusiasts and otherwise “good people.”

This year, I’ll be presenting a humorous and surprising breakdown of Wyatt’s first fights. I’ll be sorting out facts from fiction and introducing new evidence that speaks for itself. As it turns out… some of the old narratives on this topic - that many have quickly dismissed - carry much more truth than folks realize. That’ll be on Thursday evening, Oct. 22.

I’m delighted to announce that one of the guest presenters at this year’s Tombstone Territory Rendezvous event is David Grasse´. He will be presenting on the story of Annie Kane, a Cochise County gal who tried her best to “make it,” as they say, but difficulty found her everywhere she went. His presentation, “An Unfortunate Girl: The Brief and Tragic Life of Annie Kane” features a woman touched by mental health issues.

Because I’m familiar with the story, I can tell you now – it’s a good one. David leans towards morbid history… yeah, sure, but he writes and presents with respect, sensitivity, humor, and tact. The audience is in for a treat. David has shared parts of Annie’s story with the Tombstone Epitaph and in his author blog (DavidGrasse.com). The live discussion will be on the morning of Thursday, October 22 at the historic Schieffelin Hall in Tombstone, AZ. Q&A to follow.
