The St.Cloud Little League Challenger Division is now in its 12th season of play. This division has a heart of its own. We have been proudly sponsored by so many strong supporters within our community to keep these "Daily Warriors" (as I call them) in an active and encouraging environment . Adapting to the ways of society or life in general is taxing for many of these children and their families. On the field the roles change. Baseball is adaptive to them. With their own peers and no negative pressure. For at least two hours they are having physical therapy, enhancing their cognitive skills, and amazing enough laughing as they are learning. Playing as any other team in the hot, cold, or rain while aiming where they want the ball to go, sliding into home plate, and giving high fives in the dug-out. All while their parents are cheering them on from the bleachers. These players are not in an office or in their homes with a therapist doing and working on these skills they are on the ball field. While the parents get to sit back and have the ability like every other parent to watch their child play ball like other children and get to have that moment of pride wale up inside and get to say "She Did It.." While the child has hopes of confidence to go into the vast world and say yes, I can do this! These athletes change our lives each time we play. The impact they have on others can not be easily put into words. Courage, Inspiration, and Hope are a few that come to mind. Never without a smile and never with a complaint, these kids just love to be outside and to enjoy an activity that other children get to do. Next, The dedication we have found in our buddies is honorable to say the least. What leadership we have found in our community! Their tireless energy and huge hearts have made this organization proud to have them represent us. With a watchful eye, quick reaction, and playful humor these buddies allow the players optimal experience on and off the field. We can never thank them enough. Coaches and Staff have their hands full with 30 players and 30 buddies. Each and every one of them with dedication and skill. Teachers in the true sense of the word. Helping those with and without the understanding of the game, to work with each other, and succeed with each other. The greatest ingredient for our Challenger Division would be humor. Not a dash here or there. We carry it in bulk. That has made our success and all of the hard work and dedication worth the ride.
