Today, we proudly celebrate the 36th Anniversary of the Osceola County Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 3284.

On June 12, 1990, our Local received its official Charter from the International Association of Fire Fighters. What began with a dedicated group of charter members has grown into a strong and respected organization that continues to advocate for the safety, rights, wages, benefits, and working conditions of Osceola County firefighters and paramedics.

As we mark this milestone, we want to extend our sincere gratitude to our charter members. Their vision, courage, and commitment laid the foundation upon which our Local stands today. They fought for the members who came after them, often sacrificing their own time and energy to build something greater than themselves.

For 36 years, Local 3284 has continued to grow because of the strong foundation they built, one brick at a time. The benefits, protections, and opportunities our members enjoy today are a direct result of their hard work and dedication.

To our charter members, thank you for laying the bricks for the future of this Local and for every member who has proudly worn the L3284 patch. Your legacy continues to guide us as we work to leave this organization even stronger for the next generation.

Happy 36th Birthday, L3284.

Union Strong. Firefighter Proud. IAFF Strong.

Yesterday, Osceola County firefighters responded to a serious multi-vehicle crash on the Florida Turnpike near Mile Marker 248 involving several patients, multiple entrapments, and a large scale emergency response.

Crews worked quickly and efficiently to stabilize the scene, extricate trapped occupants from heavily damaged vehicles, and provide advanced emergency medical care under challenging conditions. Several patients were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

The incident resulted in the closure of the Florida Turnpike and caused significant traffic delays while emergency personnel worked to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

Osceola County firefighters are trained extensively for complex extrication and mass-casualty incidents like this, ensuring they are prepared to respond when seconds matter most. We are proud of the professionalism, teamwork, and dedication displayed by all personnel on scene.

Please remember to slow down, stay alert, and move over for emergency vehicles working on Florida roadways.

Osceola County Firefighters responded to a challenging fire in the Campbell City area earlier this week that quickly spread from a shed to an RV, trailer, and two vehicles in the rear of the property. Firefighters also stopped the fire from extending into a neighboring trailer, making a quick and aggressive knockdown that prevented even greater damage.

The structure involved presented significant hazards, including vehicle tires stacked floor-to-ceiling inside portions of the trailer. Crews conducted extensive overhaul operations after portions of the roof collapsed, working tirelessly to expose and extinguish hidden fire deep within the debris.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters. One family has been displaced from the RV, and we keep them in our thoughts as they begin the recovery process.

Outstanding work by all personnel on scene whose fast actions and teamwork kept this fire from becoming even larger.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms in our fire family and throughout our community.

Today we celebrate the strength, compassion, sacrifice, and unconditional love that mothers provide every single day. Whether you’re serving on duty, supporting your family from home, or balancing both, your dedication never goes unnoticed.

To the mothers working today while missing time with their families, thank you for your commitment and service. To the moms at home holding everything together, thank you for being the foundation that keeps our families and communities strong. And to those remembering mothers no longer with us, we honor them today as well.

From all of us, we wish you a safe, happy, and meaningful Mother’s Day.

Today we recognize and honor the brave men and women who answer the call, no matter the hour, no matter the risk.

On International Firefighters’ Day, we pay tribute to those who run toward danger so others can find safety. It’s more than a job, it’s a calling built on courage, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to serve.

We also take a moment to remember the firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their legacy lives on in every response, every act of service, and every life saved.

To our brothers and sisters here at home and across the world, thank you for your dedication, your strength, and your heart.

Stay safe. Stay ready.

Proud to recognize Engineer Ramey and Lieutenant Beeler for their continued dedication as members of Florida US&R Task Force 4.

This week, Task Force 4 participated in a statewide Mobilization Exercise (MOBEX)—a large-scale, multi-agency training designed to strengthen Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) capabilities and ensure teams across Florida remain mission-ready.

Throughout the exercise, teams operated in realistic, high-stress environments, simulating the types of disasters they may be called to respond to across the state. These scenarios test coordination, communication, and technical rescue skills under real-world conditions.

Training like this directly enhances Task Force 4’s readiness to respond when our communities need it most—whether here at home or anywhere across Florida.

We’re proud to have Engineer Ramey and Lieutenant Beeler representing our department and continuing to elevate the standard of service.
