KATY TESSMAN// indie-folk
With a voice shaped by the wisdom gained through cancer survival, heartbreak, and motherhood, Katy Tessman is an optimistic and approachable singer-songwriter who celebrates life’s stumbles and summits. In performance, Katy is joined by her son, Louis “Sweet Lou” Tessman Stanoch, whose guitar work adds depth, intimacy, and a distinct blues influence to songs drawn from lived experience and shared history. Their shows are described by Smouse in the House as “infectious, contagious, and all kinds of fun rolled into one,” while Girl at the Rock Shows notes, “You walk away from Katy’s set feeling empowered and ready to take on the world.” Based in Hopkins, Tessman is also an award-winning children’s book author and a CHANGEMAKER recognized by Minnesota Women’s Press.

JOE FINSTROM// alt-rock
Joe Finstrom is a Minneapolis based musician and audio engineer. He has played bass and cello and in bands as a freelance performer since 2006 and released an indie-pop record in 2022 under the name Vincent van Beethoven. His first release under his given name released November. It is a blend of alternative, folk, grunge, and rock and roll. As an audio engineer Joe has worked freelance and is also the owner of Peachy Gnome, a recording studio in Minneapolis, MN.
