YOUR VOICE MATTERS! JOIN US FOR A COMMUNITY LISTENING SESSION!

CAIRO, in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Health, Hooyo Hour Organization, and Generation Hope, invites community members to an important listening session focused on the overdose crisis and its impact on our communities.

This is an opportunity to share lived experiences, discuss community challenges, and ensure that voices often left out of public health conversations are heard.

We’re still carrying the joy of Friday night.

To everyone who joined us for Rooted & Rising: A Decade of Impact, thank you for making our tenth-year anniversary a celebration we will hold close for a long time.

And your presence meant so much, especially now.

When fear and uncertainty weigh on immigrant and refugee families, there is real comfort in knowing there are people who will stand beside us.

That is a gift we will carry into the work ahead.

TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT!

Tonight, we celebrate ten years of CAIRO and every person who helped make those years matter.

Thank you to everyone who secured a ticket. Knowing we will celebrate this milestone with a full house means so much to us.
Before you head out, here is what you need to know:

Tonight, Friday, October 9

Doors open at 5:00 PM. Please arrive by 5:30 PM.
Give yourself time to park, check in, and settle in so we can begin the program together and on time.

Traveling from outside the St. Cloud Metro? Please keep Friday traffic in mind and leave a little earlier. We want you with us from the very beginning.

Parking: The event center’s parking lot is being redone. Please use the adjacent hotel parking lot or the Mavericks Steaks & Cocktails parking lot. Both are just a short walk from the event center’s front door.

After all the planning and anticipation, the moment is finally here. We cannot wait to welcome you and celebrate a decade that belongs to this whole community.

Our gala is SOLD OUT, and we have so many people to thank.

To everyone who registered for Rooted & Rising: A Decade of Impact: thank you for making room in your lives to celebrate ten years of CAIRO. We know your time matters, and your decision to spend this evening with us means a great deal.

We’re excited to welcome Ubah Ali and McGeorge Obika as co-hosts of Rooted & Rising: A Decade of Impact, our 10th year Anniversary Gala!

Ubah Ali, lead reporter at The Somali Brief, joins us after three years at WCCO-TV. She brings a storyteller’s perspective and a deep knowledge of Minnesota’s immigrant communities.

McGeorge Obika, Lead Firmware/Software Engineer and Lab Manager at HP and Global Co-Chair of Black@HP, brings more than 20 years of experience as an emcee. He knows how to bring people together and keep a celebration moving!

Come for the dinner, cultural performances, and familiar faces. Come to hear the stories behind the work. Most of all, come knowing that your presence and support help us continue opening opportunities for children, youth, and families.
