A troubling allegation has emerged following last week’s Kissimmee City Commission meeting.

After a brave young woman publicly shared her personal experiences and allegations of years of mental and physical abuse, reports have surfaced that an anonymous complaint was filed with the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) against her shortly afterward. Some individuals familiar with the situation have alleged that the complaint was made in an attempt to intimidate or retaliate against her for speaking publicly.

Adding another layer to the story, Lillian Evans’ son, Pete Lopez, made a public statement on social media indicating that he believed the woman’s account. Lopez also alleged that his own mother previously made a DCF report against him that he described as frivolous and intended to interfere with his family.

At this time, these are allegations, and no official findings have been released. However, we have been told that law enforcement has been contacted regarding the matter and that additional information may become available in the coming days.

No one should be intimidated or discouraged from sharing their lived experiences. If these allegations are true, they raise serious concerns that deserve a thorough review.

Stay tuned as we continue to follow this developing story.
