Update: foster found! ❤️

‼️‼️Dahlia is in need of a new foster or foster to adopt home‼️

The cats in Dahlia’s foster home do not like her and are not adjusting well to having a dog in the home and have become reactive 🥲 so Dahlia needs a new family ASAP 🙏

1.5 year old Dahlia came into rescue when her owner lost her home and in process of moving left Dahlia behind 😔 Thankfully a wonderful couple rescued her and contacted us to help Dahlia.

Beautiful Dahlia is a very silly and happy girl! She can be shy when meeting strangers but is easily won over by treats. Dahlia loves playing “tag,” running around outside and going on walks, and she also loves sitting on the couch with her people. She adores pets and will tell you to keep petting her all day long.

Dahlia lived with cats and other dogs before we rescued her. She is the only dog in her foster home, however she gets excited every time she sees another dog. She loves running up and down the fence with the neighbor’s dogs. Dahlia loves her chew toys and stuffies. She walks well on a leash, is potty trained and kennel trained.

Dahlia can be wary of new sights and sounds on her walks, and although she is very brave, some patience goes a long way with new experiences. Although she rarely barks, she will bark to alert you that something’s up.

A “pocket Pyr,” Dahlia weighs about 55 lbs. If you are looking for an addition to your family, Dahlia will make a wonderful companion and guardian!
Dahlia is being fostered in Kansas City area.

*A secure & visible fence
*Another dog in the home
*A home visit
*A vet check with at least a two year vet history

Fosters/Adopters can be located in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to help transport to those states.

**Sharing for owner to find a new home. Please note: Little Bear is not in our care. Bear is located in St Louis, MO**

7.5 month old Little Bear is in need of a new home. He lives in a home with cats and another Great Pyrenees. However as he’s grown from a puppy into an adolescent he does not like to share human attention with other animals. Little Bear is deeply loved by his owner and this has not been an easy decision for her to make, however, because he needs to be an only pet, she has made the difficult decision of trying to find Bear the right home.

A sensitive boy, Bear is loving & loyal and has the biggest heart ❤️He is affectionate and enjoys cuddling with his humans. At 7.5 months old, Bear loves to play and also enjoys kicking back and just resting at your feet or by your side for hours. He is a Great Pyrenees (with maybe some Maremma?) after all so of course he enjoys being outside and takes the patrolling of his yard as his guardian duty 🐾🐾

Gentle and attentive when meeting people, Bear loves everyone he meets. Bear is so willing to please and is learning to walk well on a leash. He's crate trained and potty trained.

Bear weighs about 60 lbs, is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Too young yet to be neutered, Bear will be rehomed on a neuter contract.

Our precocious Zena was adopted this weekend! ❤️ Her new family is absolutely smitten with her! 🥰 Zena is settling in to her new home very well and we’re sure she has plenty of adventures in store for her new family. Congrats to Adam, Kelly and family and happy tails Zena! 🐾

RIP Train 💔
March 14, 2019-June 13, 2026

Our hearts our shattered today as we laid our beautiful boy Train to rest. Osteosarcoma is swift and unforgiving 💔

Train came into rescue in 2020 when his family moved and couldn’t take him with them. He was adopted twice and returned to us as he didn’t adjust to a new home. He spent his years with his foster dad, Glenn, who loved and cared for him. Train loved walks and would stay right by Glenn’s side when they were out for a walk. Train enjoyed companionship with his favorite human, and also playing with other dogs. He knew sit and unlike many Pyrs would actually come when called!

Train’s playful spirit lives on in our hearts. Run free, our spiritous boy, free from pain in the green grass and bright sunshine up above. When our time comes, we’ll see you again on the other side 🌈🐾

Approximately 3 month old Aspen was a stray at a Kansas shelter. She has a ride to St Louis area on Friday. On Saturday, adorable Aspen needs picked up from Weldon Spring, MO so she can get to her rescue and foster home in Palatine, IL ❤️

Who can resist Aspen’s puppy tail wag and wiggle butt in the comments??? We sure can’t! 🐾

Rescue Help Needed!

There are quite a few Pyrs we have been asked to take recently and we at GP Rescue of Missouri have no room for new intake 🥲

Please Note: these dogs are not in our Care. They are with another Rescue who is asking for help. Please do not comment if the Foster can change her fence. She cannot. She took these dogs in an emergency situation and we are very thankful for that! The dogs need a home with a fenced yard that will keep them contained.

Rescue needed for a pair of 2 year old Pyrenees, a male & female.

They were picked up as strays in Missouri and no owner claimed them. They were rescued from the shelter but the person who is fostering them cannot keep them as they can jump her 4 ft wire fence. They are now in an 8x8 kennel 24/7 so they don’t escape the yard which is no life for a Pyrenees! They need a hero!

Leo and Zoe are sweet, friendly & love attention. They are good with other dogs; do not know about cats. They are up to date on rabies. Zoe is spayed. Leo is not neutered.

🆘🛟Sugar needs a hero! 🛟🆘

Sugar is 10 years old and was surrendered to an Illinois shelter due to the owners age. If you have a place in your heart and home for a sweet senior girl, please PM us so we can get her out of the shelter!

The shelter says Sugar is a sweetheart and very laid back. Weighs about 80 lb. Great around children, cats, and dogs. She is spayed. Please share this so Sugar can live the rest of her golden years being loved and pampered!
