On Saturday, September 26, we’re stepping off the field and showing up for something bigger than soccer.

Forge families, players, coaches, and staff are coming together for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Fox Valley at Pottawatomie Park in St. Charles.

Games and practices are canceled for the day because we want our entire club there. Wear your Forge gear, bring your family, and walk alongside your teammates.

HARD WORK. STRENGTH. WISDOM. ⚽️

Meet Samuel Marchi, head coach of our U11 and U13 teams!

Samuel began his professional soccer career with West Ham United in England before moving to the United States to play collegiate soccer at East Central College and William Penn University. After graduating, he returned to the UK to play for South Shields FC and most recently competed for Chicago Nation FC.

Samuel began his coaching career with SC Hammers and currently serves as the Defensive Coach at Triton College, where he helps develop and mentor collegiate student-athletes.

His coaching philosophy is built on three core principles: hard work, strength and wisdom. He believes success comes through relentless effort, physical and mental resilience, and making intelligent decisions both on and off the field.

“My goal is to help players grow not only as athletes, but also as confident and disciplined individuals.”

During Forge’s inaugural season, Samuel is most excited to help young players improve their technical skills, build confidence and deepen their understanding of the game.

FUN FACT: Away from the field, Samuel plays the drums! 🥁

Forge Soccer Club is excited to offer Small Group Technical Training with Chris Mueller, bringing professional and USMNT experience directly to Forge players.

Sessions will focus on:
• Position-specific development
• Technical training
• Decision making + soccer IQ
• Confidence
• Individual feedback

📍 Forge West Indoor Building
💲 $60 per session
👟 U9 through High School

BOYS: Sept. 8 & 22 | Oct. 6 & 20
GIRLS: Sept. 15 & 29 | Oct. 13 & 27

Players can register for one session or all four.

DEVELOPING THE BODY. STRENGTHENING THE MIND. BUILDING CONFIDENT PLAYERS.

Meet Anne Poulin, coach of our U10 Girls Navy team and Forge’s Speed, Agility and Quickness (SAQ) Trainer and Mental Performance Coach!

Anne was an All-American and four-year starter at St. Charles High School, where she helped win four state championships. She was later inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame and received its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015.

Anne continued her playing career at Arizona State University before playing professionally for Nottingham Forest Ladies FC in England.

Since 2012, she has coached boys and girls from U8 through U23. Her experience includes serving as an ODP and Regional Staff Coach and Scout, helping St. Francis win a girls state championship in 2018, and currently serving as the boys varsity assistant coach at St. Charles North.

Anne holds an extensive list of credentials, including a U.S. Soccer National Youth License, United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma, Sports Performance Certification and Mental Performance Training Certification. She is also a Certified Behavior Technician.

Beyond the field, Anne has represented the United States as an Athlete Ambassador and Facilitator on U.S. Department of State Sports Diplomacy trips to Haiti, Rwanda, Cambodia and Myanmar.

Her philosophy is centered on creating a safe learning environment where players can discover and develop their love for the game while building creativity, confidence and the qualities of a great teammate.

During Forge’s inaugural season, Anne is excited to bring players and coaches together to create a strong new soccer culture within our community.

FUN FACT: Anne’s family is originally from Maine, and they return every summer. She also has two rescue pit bulls named Bohdi and Vita! 🐾

EXPERIENCE AT EVERY LEVEL. A HOLISTIC APPROACH. BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE.

Meet Mike Boland, head coach of our U13 Boys Navy team!

Mike’s playing career included ELA Soccer Club, Chicago Arsenal, Poplar Creek Soccer Club and Carmel Catholic High School before continuing at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.

His coaching experience spans high school, club and collegiate soccer. Mike has coached at Carmel Catholic High School and Campton United, served as the Boys Director of Coaching for Northern Illinois FC, and worked as a men’s assistant coach at William Penn University and Northern Illinois University. He also served as the women’s head coach at Benedictine University.

Mike holds NSCAA/United Soccer Coaches Premier, Advanced National, National and Director of Coaching diplomas, along with a USSF D License.

His coaching philosophy centers on taking a holistic approach to developing both individual players and the team as a whole.

“I’m excited to be part of Forge Soccer Club from the very beginning and look forward to helping build a bright future for the club.”

ONE GAME. MANY CULTURES. ENDLESS OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW.

Meet Jean-Bruno Omanga, coach of our U12 Gold team!

Jean-Bruno spent his early childhood between France and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, developing much of his soccer foundation in Amiens, France. After moving to Champaign, Illinois, at age 10, he continued building an impressive playing career across collegiate and semi-professional soccer.

He played at Parkland College and Purdue University Northwest, as well as for Amiens RC, Chicago City SC, Springfield FC, Edgewater Castle FC, Tryzub FC and Wisloka FC.

Primarily a right back and right winger, Jean-Bruno brings firsthand experience in defending, attacking, teamwork and decision-making. He also holds U.S. Soccer Grassroots 9v9 and 11v11 certifications.

His coaching philosophy focuses on developing the individual player in a positive, supportive and challenging environment. He encourages players to take risks, express their creativity and view mistakes as an important part of learning.

“I want every player to feel valued, confident and motivated to improve—developing their skills and decision-making while building character, discipline and respect for the game.”

During Forge’s inaugural season, Jean-Bruno is excited to build meaningful relationships with his players and create a fun, challenging environment where they can grow individually and as a team.

FUN FACT: Jean-Bruno speaks five languages—French, Spanish, Lingala, English and Swahili! His favorite player is Zinedine Zidane, and his favorite club is Paris Saint-Germain. 🌍
