A Scout is...Friendly. This moral compass makes Eagle Scouts more likely than non-Scouts to hold strong perspectives on ethical stances. [Eagle Scouts] are more likely...to believe telling the truth has a positive impact and to say a person should not do something they know is wrong, even if it leads to success.* Support these values today. We know Scouting works. We have seen our kids, grandkids, neighbors, and friends in the program become the incredible leaders they are today because of the values they learned living the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

📊 New Eagle Scout Study Released

Scouting America has released a major new research study:
“Eagle Scouts: A Legacy of Values-Based Leadership and Service.”

Conducted by The Harris Poll, the study examined the long-term impact of Scouting and the Eagle Scout experience on leadership, service, character, well-being, and civic engagement.

Among the findings:
⭐ 99% of Eagle Scouts say Scouting had a positive influence on their lives
⭐ Eagle Scouts report higher levels of leadership, purpose, gratitude, and community involvement
⭐ Non-Scouts overwhelmingly recognize the positive impact Scouting has on youth and society

The study also found Eagle Scouts are more likely to:
✔ Volunteer and lead in their communities
✔ Value honesty, responsibility, and service
✔ Maintain strong family and community relationships
✔ Spend time outdoors and practice environmental stewardship
✔ Live by the values found in the Scout Oath and Law

🌎 This research highlights the lasting impact Scouting can have on young people, families, and communities.

Scouting in action! Recently, local Scouts stepped up to help a senior citizen who needed assistance with yard work after returning home from a hospital stay. In just a couple of hours, they transformed her yard, bringing relief, joy, and a renewed sense of community. As an added surprise, it happened to be her birthday, making the day even more special. This is a great reminder that Scouting is about service, leadership, and making a positive difference in the lives of others.

IMPORTANT!!! PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST TAKE THE FULL 90 MINUTE SYT COURSE. The SYT Retake Course training logic has been corrected in the training platform so that moving forward, the training requirements are correctly recognized as the following:

Someone who took old YPT and never took the 90-minute course - They get the full 90-minute course
Someone who took the full 90-minute course who expired more than 6 days ago - They get the full course
Someone who took the full 90-minute course and expired 6 days or less (or are still active)- They get the refresher

Renewal emails will be directing individuals to their “My Training” so they can use the “Take Course” or “Retake Course” buttons where the logic is stored.

Anyone that has taken the Refresher without ever taking the full course will still need to take the full course. They will need to clear their cache and then the “Retake Course" button will direct them to the correct course.
