Things got a little spooky at the garden today!

Thankful, our adults stay patient and help me keep the fun going with these silly videos. 🤪

✔️ salad making with lettuce, tomatoes, carrots and a delicious balsamic vinegar dressing made with our honey!

Tag a fellow mom who understands the journey and whom you’d love to bring to the Rising Moms (Rising Lights Project) Fall Caregiver Retreat on Oct. 10 in Elgin!

One winning pair will each receive a FREE retreat ticket—one for you and one for the mom you tag! No previous involvement with Rising Lights Project is necessary. New moms are warmly encouraged to enter!

Today's Therapeutic Garden Grant spotlight shines on Rising Lights Project, which provides educational day programming for adults (22+) with disabilities who have aged out of traditional support services.

Their Garden Program is a hands-on outdoor classroom where participants learn horticulture, sustainable gardening, biodiversity, nutrition, and environmental stewardship — all while building social, vocational, and life skills.

Participants plant, maintain, harvest, and utilize vegetables, herbs, flowers, and pollinator habitats, growing confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and a deeper connection to nature along the way.

The Harvest Party might be my favorite Rising Lights events of the year.
Every fall, we invite our volunteers, community partners, families, donors, and—most importantly—our Rising Adults—to the garden to connect and celebrate. It’s always a beautiful evening filled with excitement, gratitude, and genuine friendship. This year was no different.

❤️To our volunteers who give their time, love, and energy… to our talented staff who go above and beyond… and to our families and Rising Adults who make this community what it is — thank you. Your impact is felt in every corner of Rising Lights, and nights like this remind us just how special this place truly is.
