Hearing happening now:

SB 1022 (Schnelting) which would move school board elections to November but only in five districts in St. Charles County. We opposed this when it was statewide, and we oppose it still because we believe it will only make these elections more partisan. It will also make it more difficult to find folks to run because it expands the length of term to four years. Finally, it extends moving votes on local funding measures to November as well. This violates local. We believe this is a test to move BOE elections statewide.

We oppose this bill.

HB2426, Rep. Keathley's broad parents' rights bill, would have created chaos and driven more teachers out of MO. Thankfully it was DEFEATED on the MO House floor today.
We thank the reps who spoke in opposition, and those who voted against it.
