TIG Mess TIG Mess is a Civil War Reenacting unit. Primarily federal impressions and civilian/early war militia We primarily stick to a Federal infantry impression.

The TIG Mess participates in battle reenactments, living histories, and programs. This impression depicts a common soldier on campaign... dirty, hungry, tired, and wishing for home. As stated above, we try to depict the common soldier of the day with as much authenticity as possible. This authenticity comes in the form of, but is not limited to uniform, messware, and weapon guidelines, period rati

ons, first person impressions, etc... While we strive to be as authentic as possible, we do understand this is an expensive hobby and are willing to help newer members along in their quest to better depict one of these brave individuals

This is complete and ready to ship out if you need a last minute jacket for the upcoming living history. Do you have a young Civil War enthusiast in your family? The 11th OVC has partnered with The Research Arsenal, published Civil War authors, and other experts in the field to create a virtual summer camp to encourage their passion for the subject!

Our new "Archives Adventure" virtual academy is a 6 week virtual camp in which students are introduced to primary records, how to do fun research, and they will be able to virtually meet and talk to experts in the field.

They will be able to talk to Civil War authors like Bob O’Neill, ask questions in real time to legendary wet plate photographer Bob Szabo!

Each week starts off with a new period topic in which they will be led through internet sources, primary sources, and other battlefield reports (at their appropriate grade level abilities). Then, each week will culminate in a livestream with an expert in the field for that week.
