DramaWorks is just wonderful- things change so quickly! Last week the Yes Game which involves eye contact and shifting attention was very hard. This week was easier. Last week we had some adults participate and they had a big lesson in the challenges of improv, always having to say yes, taking turns by listening, and work with what you are given.

Thunder rumbled through the actual sunset wedding service, one truck drove by beeping, which made everyone chuckle, a woman signed the service as well, there was a quick shower during the reception, but it was a beautiful wedding filled with joy.

Swing dancing is a Heberer family thing, and it was especially special to see the groom's parents, live out that saying "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain" as they danced joyfully in the rain, on a dance floor lit by Tiki torches.

Tomorrow the wedding guests will eat at these tables, they will dance on this floor, outside in full view of the pond, the smiling sunflowers, and this beautiful campus. We are ready to host our second wedding

It was another wonderful day, another 20 plus volunteers came out and helped- several as families! All told, we've put a good 160 hours of hard work into sprucing up the campus! Today we pressure washed everything in sight, moved dirt from around the trees, laid down 140 bags of mulch, built 15 tiki torches ( they will encircle the dance floor at Rachel and Hutch's wedding), finished hanging the 20 solar powered lanterns, w**d whacked the pond, cleaned a few garden rows, swept up a whole bunch of leaves, w**ded more paths and beds, harvested kale, onions, squash and tomatoes to eat for lunch, burned off still more w**ds, and spent time over lunch visiting and truly enjoying each other's company. Tag yourself- we can't do individuals from a public page. It was wonderful to see Donna Johnson back on campus, the Pisellis, the Cordells, the Sherrises, the Heberers, Matt Moore, Kailey Tkachik, Scarlett Kibbey, Kelli Anne and Jeff Snow, Gates Hoham, Kathy Fulmer, and the Paynes! Fantastic group of non-stop workers!!!

What a fun day!!! I started with the future bride throwing her keys in the burn pile. And then the groom and his family finding the melted key fob and the smoking hot keys....

Phil hung lanterns from the centennial oaks, Kailey pressure washed a lot, and she trimmed a bunch of smaller trees with the help of Lindy, Jeremy, and their friends. BJ now has a new washer in the Project Chance cottage, Ronnie, Jeff, and Matt are working on stacking the non matching but still working dryer on top of it. Kelli Anne helped with everything, Mako jumped in the pond, Lowell and Merrill w**ded beds so that they look like beds again, Ron and Kathy, Katie and Thomas w**ded the garden almost in its entirety, we began the process of nurturing the centennial oaks- kids moved bricks and moved them with the ATV, Dr. B cleaned the outdoor kitchen and made sure a yummy healthy lunch was ready at noon.

We are well begun getting ready for Hutch and Rachel's wedding, another work day is scheduled for May 22, we hope to see y'all then!

It is truly amazing what many hands can do! An impromptu group of volunteers working this morning in four hours cleaned the tool shed from top to bottom, finished the mowing that Cole Davis started on Friday. W**d whacking, edging, blowing, picking up logs and branches, cutting up a fallen tree, a load of towels and rags washed and dried, floors swept. Many many thanks to the Bryce Bennie family, Matt Moore, Scarlett Kibbey, and Cole Davis. The campus looks beautiful and the tool shed is immaculate!

Gratitude is the word of the day. Gratitude for the endless volunteering of Matt Moore who was on campus with Dr. Buckley before 8 AM. Gratitude for Phil Heberer, who came over in a flash to help, and for Corey Edson, who was married to Kristina Edson on campus a year ago, who also dropped everything to come lend a hand. With three w**d whackers going, they did the regular work AND trimmed around both ponds. AND whacked all the wild dog fennel that was growing in our garden. YEOMAN'S WORK! Gratitude also for Dr. Buckley's Uncle Bob who sharpens the mower blades, and for Maurine Meleck's grandson Josh who usually picks up the branches that fall and puts them on the burn pile so that mowing is faster and easier. It was wild and wooly out there today- campus got a beautiful manicure! We are truly blessed. Tag yourselves folks- I can't do it from this public page!

So many thanks and so much gratitude! Thanks to Uncle Bobbie (Dr. Buckley's uncle) for taking Maurine Meleck and Josh Murphy to campus several times last week to pick up endless branches so that we could mow. Endless thanks to Matt Moore for changing all the oil, the filters, filling the gas tanks, changing the mower blades, and doing general maintenance on absolutely everything. Thanks to Kailey Tkachik for bringing Shadow the Horse over- she wore her fly mask and did the edging while Dr. Buckley rode the mower. Matt and Kailey safely burned the huge brush pile down to embers. Matt used the sweeper to gather about 20 loads of leaves. The campus looks pretty good this evening!

Day 50 of the practice of positive thinking. She was standing at the altar at church. The question was "What does love look like?" Not one other child had an answer. This was hers- just a few years after having lost almost all of her language, this was her answer. It's still a good answer.

Day 50
"Love looks like when you want to hug someone."
