A new report reveals that nearly HALF of Florida educators say they’ve considered quitting.

Why? Because they’re underpaid, overworked, attacked by politicians, and pushed past the breaking point.

Florida’s critical teacher and staff shortage didn’t happen overnight, and when experienced educators leave, students pay the price.

Florida’s voucher system was sold as giving families more school options. Instead, it’s becoming a taxpayer-funded business opportunity for political contractors.

A new report shows a billionaire-connected startup could receive millions to help run Florida’s growing voucher program while public schools face cuts, overcrowded classrooms, and staffing shortages: https://bit.ly/4dBXtGY

Florida's schools should serve students — not billionaire investors.

Last year, Florida’s Auditor General found “a myriad of accountability challenges” in the state’s voucher program, including failures to track students, funding discrepancies, and weak oversight of taxpayer dollars: https://bit.ly/4nCO9qW

The report makes one thing clear: accountability cannot depend on what type of school a child attends.

No matter where a child is educated, every family deserves consistent educational standards, transparency, accountability, and protections that keep children safe and supported.

Uniformity doesn’t mean eliminating choice — it means ensuring every family can count on consistent standards, honest information, and accountability, no matter where their child attends school.

Every student deserves that foundation.

Every taxpayer-funded school should meet the same standards for accountability, transparency, and student protections. That’s not controversial. It’s common sense.

Florida Department of Education, Commissioner Kamoutsas, and members of the State Board of Education: Floridians deserve answers about why school systems receiving public dollars are all held to different expectations.

Every child deserves a high-quality education, and every taxpayer deserves to know how their money is being used.

Florida taxpayers fund all three school systems—so why are the rules different?

Let us be clear: Every taxpayer-funded school should meet the same standards for accountability, transparency, and student protections.

Every child deserves a high-quality education, and every taxpayer deserves to know how their money is being used. Strong accountability strengthens the entire system.

Lawmakers return Tuesday, May 12 to finish the one job they’re constitutionally required to do: pass a state budget.

They return as Florida ranks 50th in the nation in average teacher pay for the third year in a row, class sizes grow, and vital programs like arts and music are reduced or eliminated from public schools.

It's Florida’s students who are paying the price for years of underfunding, and it’s time for lawmakers to fully fund our public schools NOW: https://bit.ly/4d9CafN

All three of these school types are funded by taxpayers—yet each operates under a different set of rules.

If the funding comes from the same taxpayers, shouldn’t the expectations be consistent, too?

No matter where a child goes to school, there should be a uniform set of standards, transparency, and protections to ensure students are getting the education they deserve.
