Musicians Across the Straits Goodwill in celebration of the normalization of relations between the US and Cuba. Ten of St. Augustine. Our target date is March 2016.

As a natural progression of past endeavors, The Friendship Association announces Musicians Across the Straits – the first of a series of goodwill initiatives celebrating the normalization of diplomatic relations between the US and Cuba.

“Musicians Across the Straits" is a musician-to-musician goodwill project. Augustine's finest musicians will travel to Havana to help a local Cuban grassroots pr

oject that works with intellectually handicapped youth, raise awareness about the importance of social integration of the intellectually challenged. In Havana the initiative will promote awareness to the need for social inclusion. The concerts will encompass unique American music genres including Blues, Jazz, Traditional and New Americana, and Folk presented from the unique perspective of “La Florida” and the influence of St. For this initiative, the Friendship Association has partnered with the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida (www.dcacf.org), and Sociedad Civil, the community-development branch of the Office of the Historian of Havana.
