Two weeks into ICM's Rapid Emergency Disaster Intervention (REDI) response, relief continues to reach earthquake-affected families across Southern Mindanao.

đź’§ Over 1,400 containers of clean drinking water
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Reaching more than 6,800 families across General Santos City, Koronadal, Lake Sebu, and T'boli communities

Just days after the magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck off the coast of Sarangani, ICM reached one of the hardest-hit areas: Glan.

With roads damaged by landslides, bridges compromised, and communication lines disrupted, relief teams faced significant challenges just getting there. But what they found upon arrival was heartbreaking.

"As soon as we entered Glan, people along the road were crying out for water," shared Mary Grace Haway, Area Head of ICM's General Santos base.

To help meet urgent needs, ICM distributed:
đź’§ 276 containers of five-liter drinking water
🍲 972 ready-to-prepare food packs

For families affected by the earthquake, access to clean water and food is critical as communities begin the long journey toward recovery.

On June 10, ICM completed its first emergency relief distribution — reaching 82 families in Malapatan and Alabel, Sarangani with clean drinking water and ready-to-prepare food packs.

"Through this first distribution, we are able to respond to some of their most immediate needs and remind them that they are not facing this crisis alone." -Baltazar Navila, ICM Field Communications Officer

Assessments are continuing across affected areas. More distributions are planned in the coming days. Thank you to everyone who gave and prayed - your support is already reaching families on the ground.

ICM Students Singapore officially launched last week… and the story behind it matters.

It started with a father and son on a Vision Trip to the Philippines. They saw the communities ICM serves firsthand. A year later, the son came back - not just as a visitor, but as the founder of a student movement built around turning that experience into action.

Louise Joachimowski, Executive Director of ICM, spoke at the event to share the mission behind the work.

This is what happens when someone sees something real and decides to do something about it.

A small deposit. A shared goal. A group that shows up every week.

Across ICM communities, savings groups have accumulated $11.3 million of capital in cumulative assets — built by members themselves, toward businesses, emergencies, and futures they planned together.

Have you ever heard the word ultra-poor?

It means surviving on less than $0.50 a day — where basic needs go unmet and the safety net doesn’t exist. That’s less than one-sixth of the level of extreme poverty which is $3.20 per person per day.

In the Philippines, it hides in plain sight. Behind rivers. Along stilted pathways. In communities that don’t usually make the news.

Thirty percent of the families ICM works with live at this level.

Local churches in these same communities are where Transform begins.

Pastor Godfrey has led his church in Uganda through some of the hardest terrain — communities with deep ties to fear, where trust takes years to build.

Transform didn't arrive from the outside. It came through him — through house visits, savings groups, community gardens, and tippy taps that children now run to wash their hands at.

"I am overjoyed that now my community is filled with joy, unity and peace," he says.

15,296 partner pastors from our Thrive network like Godfrey are why Transform reaches the places it does.

They already live there.

They already have the trust.

ICM just walks alongside.

Ultra-poverty isn’t just about income.

It shapes every part of life — health, education, safety, belonging.

These numbers reflect the families ICM works with. And they’re also the reason Transform exists.

More than 2,213,021 family members have been uplifted through the program.

The work continues.

Cambodia's very first Transform graduates — the first of thousands of families who will complete this program in their country.

Transform is ICM's flagship four-month program built around health, income, financial skills, and education — delivered to families in ultra-poverty through local community networks.

Every smile in these photos represents four months of showing up, learning, and growing.

Congratulations to Cambodia's first graduates.
