Sheldon Family Association

Sheldon Family Association The Sheldon Family Association was founded in 1939 by a group of Sheldon descendants.

The Sheldon Family Association (SFA) is a non-profit organization with about 300 members, founded in 1939 to stimulate interest in, and to perpetuate the history of the SHELDON (or SHELDEN and other variants) family. https://sheldonfamily.org

These purposes are met through annual meetings and by maintenance of an extensive genealogical data file on all branches of the family. This information is

being corrected and updated continuously and is thus being preserved for posterity. Currently an effort is underway to digitize our source documents

By means of the Sheldon Family Association Quarterly, members are informed of discoveries in Sheldon lineage research, and dates and places of the annual Meeting and Reunion. Many informative displays and posters are at each annual Reunion, and genealogical research will gladly be done for your lines. From the SFA genealogy database (which is a composite of the Sheldon Magazine brought into the present day by descendants).

So proud to be part of this window restoration project.

Jeff Fellinger, Willard Street Traditions restoration artist, recently reinstalled a set of restored windows on the first floor of the Judd-Harris House.

The Henry Sheldon Museum extends its thanks to all of its friends, donors, and members who contributed to the windows restoration project at the museum. Special thanks, too, to the 1772 Foundation, the Osprey Fund, and the Vermont Division of Historic Preservation for supporting this project.

The windows project began in 2021 and, when it is completed this winter, 28 double-hung window units and one over-door fan light sash will have been restored and reinstalled in the museum's iconic Judd-Harris House. The Judd-Harris House was the residence of the museum's founder, Henry Sheldon, and it has been the home of the institution's collection since 1882.

We've gotten this question from a few members lately. The ACPL will accept family genealogy records in their genealogy center. Email them at [email protected] with questions. We are working on a communication about donating Sheldon research specifically to them to be added to our archives, which they house. More info to come.

Making good use of storage options will enable you to take items with you and efficiently store the rest in an accessible way.
