Mayday is bringing PTSD support to Kankakee County, along with mental health support. There are plenty of programs that will assist in finding support, but there's no financial support while someone is recovering and healing. We are ending the stigma behind mental healt

h. I do not want anyone to go through what I've gone through. I can't let that happen.
-Mayday is blessed to have the clinical backing of Dr Lana Logan, PhD, LCPC, who specializes in First Responder PTSD. She specializes in primary and secondary trauma experienced law LEOs, FF/Medics, coroners, funeral directors, and their families, educators, veterans, mental health professionals, flight attendants, survivors of su***de, survivors of violent crimes (sexual assault, domestic violence, workplace violence, and others), their families and those struggling with complicated and traumatic grief. Additionally, she works with survivors of NDE (near-death experiences) and physically gifted children and adults. She offers debriefing services for LEOs after critical incident involvement as well as mandated psychotherapy for fit-for-duty protocols. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Professional counseling, a Master of Ministry in Comparative Theology, and a Doctorate degree in Transpersonal Psychology. She is a Certified Critical Incident Response provider, as well as certified in Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Complex Traumatic Stress Psychotherapy, School Crisis Intervention, Logotherapy, Clinical and Ericksonian Hypnosis, and Pet Bereavement.
-Mayday is blessed to have the support of Julie Rushbrook-McGill, a beautiful soul that lost her son, FF/EMT-P Quenton Rushbrook to su***de in 2017 at only 22 years old. Julie is a fierce survivor, a loving mother, and she keeps her son's memory alive in many ways. Julie brings to us her experience with Team Q, something she created to honor the memory of FF/Medic Rushbrook. Julie is so deeply passionate about her work in su***de prevention and mental health, and she is a warrior for First Responders. Again, Mayday is eternally blessed to have Julie on our team.
-Mayday is also blessed to have the support of Mental Health Awareness legend, Anne Melvin-King. Anne has advocated for Mental Health Awareness and Su***de Prevention in Kankakee County for years, driven by the loss of her sister Erin to su***de. She is on the Illinois Board of Directors at AFSP, an instructor at Mental Health First Aid USA, a former Crisis Chat Specialist at CommUnity Crisis Services, the former Walk Chairwoman for the Kankakee County Out of the Darkness walk for su***de awareness and prevention, as well as an amazing mom who advocates for her children fiercely.
-Lasted, The Mayday Foundation was created by me, Felicia Daverin-Goodrich, PA (Professionally Anxious). I am a su***de attempt survivor and First Responder. When I reached out for help with my PTSD, I found there was nothing, especially in Kankakee County. I can't let that happen to my brothers and sisters that have dedicated their lives, and sacrificed their mental and emotional health, to helping others. No more stigma behind mental health. Talk about PTSD, whether it be acute or complex. Challenge yourself to better understand PTSD, mental health, self-care, etc. Share the knowledge you receive here. Be a Mental Health Warrior with us. All my love,
Felicia

Until my dream becomes reality and I'm financially able to help others, I want to offer some support. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out. However, please call 911 for emergencies, or the Su***de Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255, or call or text 988, or text to 741741. If you message this page, I cannot guarantee an immediate response. I'm not licensed in any way for this; I've taken numerous training classes and racked up a whole folder of certificates. I can, however, offer Peer to Peer support. My qualifications for P2P support is Professionally Anxious, lifelong depression sufferer, OCD, CPTSD, ADHD, ABC, 123, easy as do re me. PTSD cannot be reversed and there is no cure, so this is my life now. I better understand it though and I'm learning to live with it.

I can help you find therapists specific for your needs. I can refer you and help in whatever capacity I can. I can offer words of encouragement, solutions or support, someone to rage vent to, etc. I will help in whatever way I can until The Mayday Foundation NFP is fully established.

(I stole the following from my therapist's page. Plagiarism has no grounds here) THIS GROUP IS NOT A CRISIS CENTER. PLEASE CONSULT A LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL IN YOUR AREA FOR AN ASSESSMENT AND ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS OF YOUR MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS.
NO POLITICAL POSTS ARE ALLOWED. NO JUDGMENT, VIOLENT LANGUAGE, SOLICITATIONS, OR ATTACKS OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED.
