The words "Franklin County football" and "Cioffi" are synonymous. Rob was instrumental in starting the St. Albans Steelers football program and has helped instill good values in local players over many years -- values that have spilled over into our communities. Then, Rob passed those values on to his son Chad, who coaches football at Missisquoi Valley Union High School. For example, Chad has taken Robin, a young man with special needs, and made him feel like a part of the team. Now, there are rumblings of a youth-player feeder program in the MVU area, which means the values of the St. Albans Steelers program will continue on in the MVU region. What a great legacy of H.O.P.E. to start and sustain through young, local football players! Enjoy your meal at Twiggs!

Finally, we have secured all the necessary items for the banquet. It is going to be at a different location this year and it is going to look a bit different. This year we will be doing an awards ceremony at the Collins Perley Sports Complex on December 4th. It will be held on the tennis courts. After going in the front door, turn right and go all the way to the end of the hall. It's the line of green doors facing the ice rink.

What is going to look different is this year we are only conducting an awards ceremony. No potluck. We must follow the school's rules so please ensure everyone is wearing a mask. If you still have any equipment, please bring it with you.

The schedule will be as follows:

1st - 4th (flag) will be from 3:00pm - 4:00pm
5th and 6th will be from 4:00pm - 5:00pm
7th and 8th will be from 5:00pm - 6:00pm

1st - 3rd will receive trophies. 4th Graders receive a letter, very similar to what one might receive in high school. Each sequential year players receive a pin to put on their letter. If a player's first year of playing is in grades 5th - 8th, they will receive a letter and then receive pins for each year in the program.

I look forward to seeing everybody on the 4th of December!

On Saturday, October 16th, our 5/6 and 7/8 teams will be playing Colchester at Collins Perley. The 5/6 game starts at 5:30 and the 7/8 game starts at 7:00. This is our last regular season games of 2021. We invite you to come out and support your local youth football team. Admission is free!

Fantastic night under the lights with the kids. Thank you to Tim Viens and the Collins Perley staff. Thank you to everybody that came out to watch the kids play. From what I saw, they had a fantastic time. Lastly, thank you to all the coaches for donating your time. This program isn’t possible without them.

On Saturday, September 25, the St. Albans Steelers Flag Program will be playing under the lights at Collins Perley Sports Complex. The game will start at 7:00PM. This is the highlight of the kids season. They have practiced and scrimmaged for 6 weeks to have the opportunity to play "Under the Lights." Let's fill the stadium and show that their community supports their efforts. Thank you all!
