The lettuce beds have certainly enjoyed the cooler weather at the Star Club Inc. garden.
This is the latest attempt at preventing furry little animals from getting the carrot seeds.
Some of the community members have decided to decorate for the holiday.

Here are some pictures of the Star Club's second greenhouse. This structure is smaller at 20'x10' and is intended for seasonal and class projects. The added overflow space will be a real asset. The misting system and light fixtures are next to be installed.
When we were having a lot of undesired guests, I disconnected the pump and drained the hydroponic tank of our solar powered grow system. Yesterday, the solar panels were reconnected and the system is up and running and is ready for plants.

We started another season in the garden. We planted cabbage, cauliflower, and brussel sprout seeds. The emphasis was on every plant needs air, water, food, and light. Some to different degrees, and some times from different sources.

Today's cucumbers. The variety is called "Market".
The Star Club Inc. students planted these seeds in February.

With a combination of a baking soda spray and an OTC fungicide. The fungus infection on the squash plants seems to be responding.

An update for all the supporters of Star and the high tunnel.
A brief glimpse at some of our plants. Our two grape vines are starting to root and grow leaves. Carrots are starting to shoulder (coming out of the ground). We anticipate a lot of squash, all of our cabbage heads are filling out. Peas are making a last effort, and we have our first cucumber.
And a whole lot more.
I would be remiss to not say thanks to all the people who supported our plantapalooza. Thanks to each and every one of you.
It may take effort from others, but it is from your support that they will feel our love.

You guys won't believe this huge birth announcement. It will blow your socks off.

Now comes the hard part. Not losing them to bugs or other critters.

My favorite bed so far. In one bed we have multiple tomato plants, onion, a couple of marigolds, several cucumber plants, and out of frame is basil.
The Star Club outside garden bed. Cabbage and cucumber. I also wanted to show a cabbage plant with damage from an unwanted diner.
I have seen a few lady bugs this year, I hope from the ones that were released last year.
And our indoor cucumbers have reached the top.

A heart felt thank you to the First Baptist Church family. Not only this weekend, but your participation in work parties, preparation of beds at the high tunnel, or the always important prayer.
