Thanks to all who joined us for our third Innovative Riparian Buffer Workshop last week at Fitzgerald Farm in Colchester. Participants explored a direct-seeding trial established in 2025 and learned about the novel approach being tested by the Intervale Conservation Nursery and its partners.

Thanks to everyone who attended our Wetlands & Wildlife workshop at the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge last weekend!

While a few ospreys circling overhead kept the other birds out of sight during our walk through the refuge, we took the opportunity to look a little closer to the ground and appreciate some of the frogs and insects along the Discovery Trail.

Held at a restoration project site on Lake Carmi, Lakeshore Restoration Permitting (Part One): Pre-Implementation is designed for staff from conservation districts and watershed organizations, as well as other clean water project implementers looking to build their knowledge of project permitting and design.

One week from today! Join the Abenaki Nation of Missisquoi for a community conversation on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 6-8pm at the Islands in the Sun Senior Center (547 Main St, Alburgh).

This discussion will focus on community priorities related to water quality, habitat, recreation, and access. Participants will help identify future projects and opportunities that support the needs and goals of the Abenaki community, with support from the Franklin County NRCD - VT to pursue funding and move ideas into action.

Dinner will be provided, and participants will receive a $42 stipend. Childcare services, travel stipends, and interpretation services are available upon request.
