Music is a big piece of our joy. Teddy and Trai would discuss music and all the time. Teddy was engaged with the music program as any student could be and identified as being part of the band.
Junior Spotlight: Over the next eight days we will recognize Juniors who have committed 3 years of their High School career to the art of music!
Our last spotlight goes to Trai Parent!
Trai has been with the Wisdom Jr/Sr Band since 8th grade, but that is not where his music career began.
Trai has had a passion for music since the moment he could speak, sing, and dance.
Though his taste in music has developed over the years, his passion has been steadfast.
His musical career began at 6 years old with the violin.
After finding comfort in one instrument, he quickly moved onto new and more challenging instruments.
His knowledge now includes but is not limited to; Violin, flute, Trumpet, Trombone, piano, electric guitar, Ukele, drums, and recorder.
His favorite instrument to play is the flute, but of course the favorite to listen to is the electric guitar, which is the instrument he is currently playing in our band.
In addition to playing in our pep band during basket ball games, for the past three years Trai is also the voice of the Wisdom Pioneers basketball teams, announcing players, relaying rules to the crowd, and pumping up the excitement for the game!
His favorite genre of music is metal/ rock in which bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden have helped expand his music taste. Trai also loves learning new music from friends learning about artists hes never heard about like the Wrecks, Sleep Token, and Tool. He loves the way bands convey deep messages seen through his love of Linkin Parks deep heavy Lyrics. He is currently growing his already impressive vinyl album and cd collection.
Music also helps us sometimes understand messages we couldn’t understand sometimes if they were just told to us
In the future, Trai plans to continue growing his knowledge of music, challenging his talents and skills by learning more instruments, and living a life full of music and enjoying the emotions they stir within us.
To Trai music is something he finds is a great platform to expand taste in as shown through his love in researching bands he has never heard about.
In closing he wants to say no matter what kind of music your into hold onto it with all you got. And maybe just maybe once in a while take in some other music to see what else is out there. You’ll never know until you look for what other musics out there for you.
