October is here and the Saguache Works Blue Earth Thrift Store has Halloween items! Some items are spooky and some are filled with fall fun!

Today is Sale Saturday in the thrift store, too, where many items are 50% off all day long!

In the Saguache Works 4th Street Food Store, we have fall flavors, like apple c***r, apple butter, canned pumpkin, fresh butternut squash from Monte Vista, fresh mushrooms from Alpine Valley Mushrooms, vine ripened tomatoes from Monte Vista, organic yellow potatoes from the SLV and fresh cabbage from Monte Vista! The cabbages are large, but that only means that one is enough for some fresh slaw, to add to a stir fry, to make some cabbage rolls and maybe even have enough left for a jar of homemade saurkraut.

We also have fresh Mountain Mama bread in stock from Tumbleweed in Monte Vista. Tumbleweed bakery is taking next week off, so we won't get a delivery next week. Stock up this week if you need some! It can be frozen, as well.

Retail stores are open six days per week (closed on Tuesdays) from 10 am to 5 pm.

The Saguache Works 4th Street Food Store is restocked with local favorites! Zia Tortilla chips from Durango, Colorado are back in stock! Local produce also came in, including large cabbages, red beets and early girl tomatoes from Monte Vista and zucchini, Pueblo hot green chile peppers and sweet corn from Pueblo. We also got in more organic yellow potatoes from the SLV!

Fresh Tumbleweed bread was delivered and we have the feature flavor which is Ute Corn Anadama Sourdough in addition to the Mountain Mama Sourdough bread! Other flavors are available in the freezer case, too (Everything Sourdough, Cinnamon Raisin)

We also have fresh blueberry fried pies from Worth the Drive Bakery!

Today is Sale Saturday at the Saguache Works Blue Earth Thrift Store where most items are 50% off all day! Halloween items are coming out soon!

Saguache Works would like to extend a warm welcome to the new residents at the Range View Apartments!

Saguache Works is a non-profit 501 c (3) organization that was founded in 2012 and owns two historic buildings in downtown Saguache. The buildings are utilized for the 4th Street Food Store, the Blue Earth Thrift Store and the BEBOP fitness studio.

The 4th Street Food Store provides healthy food options for people who seek organic food, food for diets like gluten-free, paleo, keto, non-gmo, etc and prioritizes local foods from farmers, ranchers and food producers in Saguache County, the San Luis Valley and other Colorado growing areas such as the Western Slope and Pueblo. We also accept SNAP/EBT and participate in the Double-Up Food Bucks program. The Saguache County Commissioners have generously funded a discount called SHED (Saguache Healthy Elders Discount) which gives residents of Saguache County who are 60 years old and older 20% off on groceries.

The thrift store accepts gently used household items, clothing and books, etc. during our business hours. It is a great place to locally source used merchandise.

Retail stores are open 6 days per week (closed on Tuesdays) and are open from 10 am to 5 pm.

The Saguache Works 4th Street Food Store got in fresh Tumbleweed Bread this week, including the feature flavor of Everything Sourdough! The Everything spice on top of the loaf pairs nicely with savory sandwiches like grilled cheese (add some cream cheese to make it even better), BLTs (we have fresh local Early Girl Tomatoes from Monte Vista and fresh red butter lettuce from Canyon City) tuna melts and fried egg sandwiches (eggs from Yoder are available in the dairy case).

We also got in fresh zucchini and have Pueblo sweet corn and peppers available! A delivery of fresh mushrooms from Alpine Valley Mushrooms arrived this week, too! Springside green chile cheese curds came in, as well!

We also got more Gosar Sausages this week in popular varieties!

Fresh cookies and fried pies from Worth the Drive Bakery in Monte Vista also arrived this week!

The Bag Sale in the Saguache Works Blue Earth Thrift Store is still going on through the end of the month where you can get a bag and fill it with clothing, shoes and accessories for only $5. Today is Sale Saturday, too, where other thrift items are 50% off all day long!

Happy Fall Festival day, from Saguache Works!

The Saguache Works 4th Street Food Store has produce from the Colorado harvest, including Early Girl tomatoes and cherry tomatoes from Monte Vista, sweet corn from Pueblo, fresh red beets and carrots from Monte Vista, Shish*to peppers and slicing cucumbers and rainbow sweet peppers from Pueblo, zucchini from Monte Vista, garlic and organic yellow potatoes from the San Luis Valley! We even have some cherry apple c***r and spiced apple c***r from Big B's orchard on the Western Slope

Worth the Drive bakery cookies and Tumbleweed bread cookies came in this week and are going fast!

The bag sale in the Saguache Works Blue Earth Thrift Store is going on through the end of the month, where you can fill a bag issued by our clerk with clothing, shoes and assessories for only $5. Today is Sale Saturday in the thrift store, too, so even items excluded from the bag sale are 50% off all day long!

The Saguache Works Blue Earth Thrift Store is having a BAG SALE, going on NOW through the end of September.

Bags will be provided by Saguache Works and may be filled with clothing, shoes and accessories. Each filled bag is only $5 for the entire bag and you can fill more than one!

The Saguache Works 4th Street Food Store is continuing to stock fresh Colorado produce during our local harvest season! We got in organic peaches and nectarines this week, but it appears that the season is ending soon. We also got in more fresh sweet corn from Pueblo! More fresh Colorado tomatoes are from Monte Vista! We also have local GARLIC from right here in the SLV! We also got fresh organic chile peppers (Anaheim, medium heat) from Crestone's Archaic Orchard!

Tumbleweed Bread was delivered this week, too and includes their feature flavor of Cinnamon Raisin bread. The Cinnamon Raisin sourdough bread makes amazing french toast and peanut butter sandwiches! It goes well toasted with butter and/or a drizzle of local honey from Evergreen Apiaries, too!

Happy Labor Day Weekend from Saguache Works! We are OPEN all weekend, including Monday! We have some great local food for your Labor Day cookout, including Gosar Sausages, Blue Range Ranch ground beef, Pueblo Sweet Corn, fresh tomatoes from Monte Vista and from Pueblo, fresh Colorado red onions and fresh organic Palisade Peaches and Nectarines!

We also got in more fresh Romaine Lettuce from Monte Vista, Jalapeno peppers from Pueblo, Tumbleweed bread (Turmeric Onion and Mountain Mama Sourdough), Bolita Beans, White dry Posole from New Mexico, Alpine Valley Mushrooms, and we have Fall 2026 harvest honey from Evergreen Apiaries!

Fresh Colorado Produce was delivered yesterday from the Valley Roots Food Hub (VRFH) to the Saguache Works 4th Street Food Store! VRFH has been making changes to their delivery schedule and we are now receiving our weekly order on Fridays instead of Thursdays. It could switch back, but it looks like this will be our delivery day for at least a month or two going forward. Newly arrived items can be purchased once the staff can price them. Thank you for your patience.

Yesterday, we received fresh Romaine lettuce and Early Girl tomatoes from Monte Vista and we got in fresh Sweet Corn from Pueblo and certified organic Peaches from Palisade!

On Thursday, we received an order of fresh bread and cookies from Tumblewed Bread! We also got in cookies from Worth the Drive Bakery in Monte Vista this week!

We have restocked Pueblo sweet corn, Organic Palisade Peaches and Nectarines, Monte Vista Beets, Tomatoes and Zucchini! We also have shish*to peppers, cucumbers and candy onions (sweet, similar to a vidalia) from Pueblo! Fresh Mushrooms are available from Alpine Valley Mushrooms, too!
