Today we heard about the playscape project being done by Leadership Bay County. Emily Woodruff from Serenus Johnson Construction and Nikki Toledo from Huntington Private Bank shared with us their updates that will be happening at Winona Park. They are photoed here with President Craig Douglas.

“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
- Theodore Roosevelt

Michael Elliott cares!

He exemplifies Rotary’s spirit, stepping up for the club and district. Consider the many roles he has accepted in Rotary:
District 6310
Council on Legislation Representative (2020-2026)
District Governor (DG) (2018-2019)
District Governor-elect (DGE) (2017-2018)
District Governor-nominee (DGN) (2016-2017)
Assistant Governor (2015-2017)
Saginaw Valley Rotary Club
Club Membership Chair (2020-2025)
Club President (2000-2001, 2014-2015)

Michael has been in Rotary since 1982… forty-four years! (The price of gasoline was $ 1.22 and Reagan was President.) Now, in 2026, he remains active…. seldom misses a meeting or function…spearheads membership… advises and mentors members in all three local clubs and District 6310…Michael engages in Rotary and continues to impress!

Michael is a Paul Harris Fellow +8 and qualifies for multiple levels of recognition by the Rotary Foundation. It is an understatement to say that Michael’s legacy is without equal.

Perhaps what matters most is that Michael is always there for us. Have a question? Ask Michael. Need to induct a new member? Michael will do it. Have an idea? Run it by Michael.

Michael Elliott is always there; he cares, just like Roosevelt described.

Michael Elliott is our 2026 Rotary Hero!

Today at noon, we heard from two more of our Rotary scholars for 2026! To quote our president, Dr. Craig Douglas, “I don’t worry about the next generation because I can see here our future is bright.”

Today was an exceptional noon meeting of our club. We heard from four of our local scholarship recipients! Even hearing from each of them for a few moments, it was clear that they each are stand-out students with bright futures ahead.
